July 23, 201214 yr Author I know every decade has its bad things, from slavery, child labor, wars, depressions, and discrimination. It's 2012 and we still have these things. What I long for is the subdivisions where kids would ride bikes and play all day in the ball field or yards. Go to school where you still were allowed to have God involved and if you messed up you got paddled and if you got into a fight the guy ended up being good friends with you. When it snowed it was clean and not an ice storm, you were out of school for days and could walk the town looking into windows shopping. 4th of July was picnics in the neighbors yard with a Budweiser and a grill. No cussing on tv. You made tree houses for your kids Gay meant happy Best of all no cell phones, iPads, iPods, Internet,

July 23, 201214 yr Tough to say I'd want to be in a different era that would include one of the WW's. There are many, many, MANY times that I find myself oddly jealous of both my grandfathers for their "fortune" to be able to involve themselves in such an obvious fight between good and evil as was World War II. One of my biggest regrets in life is not to have fought for my country, and when I look at all of the implications involved with all of the wars the United States has involved itself in, I can't see any being more clearly obvious who the "good guy" was versus the "bad guy" than WWII. ...maybe the American Revolution held a candle to WWII...but I'd take WWII over the US Revolution any day.
