July 15, 201214 yr It's time to take down the Joe Paterno statue. Paterno-Sandusky U needs to get back to being a real university. Every time someone looks at it wounds and disgust will open once again. Apparently the Board Of Trustees don't get it still. It's the money. Too bad Alexandria Police Ifficer Mark Branham wasn't on duty at Penn State much suffering could have been avoided. Branham recently exposed issues at Campbell Lodge
July 16, 201214 yr I know I would be embarrassed to have his statue on campus if I were a student or alum.

July 16, 201214 yr Penn State: No decision reached on Paterno statue - Yahoo! Sports Not sure what else you would expect? Paterno ran that University and still does. How do you take a recruiting visit to Penn State and not think of Sandusky 1st, then Paterno and his criminal behavior 2nd? Maybe at a later time something can be placed back in his honor, but at this time no. This acts as a de facto jail sentence.
July 16, 201214 yr Campbell Lodge? I had not heard about that. They had an investigation that started several months back regarding misconduct with the administration of medicines. People with no authority were withholding medicine all together, changing doses, and apparently were intentionally giving kid A's medicine to kid B when they thought kid B could use some...all without any doctor's knowledge. I know the director (Barry Jones) is gone and I believe is possibly facing charges of some sort. Pretty much everyone with knowledge of what was going on is gonna be looking for another line of work.

I just read the newspaper article. That is horrible. Using kids as sparring "partners" to train for MMA. What in the heck? Sometimes I hate people.

July 16, 201214 yr Penn State Nittany Lions -- Paternos to conduct own review of Freeh's data - ESPN Conducting an investigation about the investigation. Wonder if the Paternos are setting things up to bring legal action?

July 16, 201214 yr This morning Imus suggested the Paterno statue be knocked over (like the Saddam statute in Baghdad) and drug across campus so students could spit on it and beat it with their shoes. :thumb:
