Adrian Peterson arrested?

Featured Replies

I'm confused. He pushed an off duty police officer and then the off duty cop jumped on his back and others jumped in to arrest him and he was charged with resisting arrest even though he wasn't being arrested for anything? Is that the contempt of cop charge?

Only thing that makes me curious is why they didn't charge him with some sort of assault along with resisting.

Hell at least Menacing. This will likely be dropped especially if it was an off duty officer who displayed no credentials. Bottom line if you're a cop, you should avoid off duty encounters unless it's life or death, especially in a bar. Be a good witness otherwise and let on duty guys take care of it.

He told AP he was a police officer apparently. Told him to leave a second time and thats when ap shoved him. Then told him he was under Arrest at which point he resisted.

If Police jumped on his back his knee must be pretty good shape and ready for the season. That is a wierd way to test it.

From Clyde's TMZ link:

Maher says Peterson was throwing his ego around and making people mad, so they put him in the VIP area. Maher says when the club was closing, he rushed over to the bar to try and order one last drink and when he wouldn't Maher says Peterson "tried to intimidate the bartender" into selling it to him.

According to Maher, that's when he intervened, but Peterson continued to be "unreasonable." That's when Maher says the off-duty cop intervened, and, as TMZ first reported, Peterson proceeded to shove him.

Maher says during his confrontation with the officer, Peterson assumed a fight stance and looked "like he meant business." Maher says, "He looked really scary and I thought he was gonna attack the cops."

So was the cop doing security or just having a good time?

Well that's a horse of a different color then!

First thing I thought of after reading that they jumped on his back. After having that surgery I still freak out 20 months later when someone goes to jump on my back unexpectedly.

Can't tell you how many times that happened to me in high school, darn cheerleaders. They see you on crutches for 2 months and then as soon as you lose them it's like nothing ever happened.

Too much alcohol + too much superstar ego=bad situation.

Generally it's the drunk guy that lost in the fantasy football playoffs because AP went down with a knee injury that is the biggest problem...

No charges. Dropped.
