Just got a notification on my phone from Bleacher Report that he was arrested in Houston, Tx for resisting arrest....

That doesn't make a lot of sense to me....

 I read that and thought the exact same thing.

Officer: "Mr. Peterson please put your hands behind you're back, you are under arrest, you have the right to remain silent..."

Peterson: "Wait, what the hell man what am I being arrested for?"

Officer: "Please don't make this any harder than it already is, I saw that look in you're eye and knew you would resist me arresting you, and now that you've proven my point I have to continue with placing you under arrest. I'm sorry but I've got to take you in."

Yup sounds like something out of Super Troopers.

There's typically two charges that almost always go hand in hand, disorderly conduct usually gets followed by resisting. If all he was cited for was resisting, this will likely get tossed out. All Day never struck me as a trouble maker so I'm curious what the whole story is...

Usually to resist arrest, you have to do something to be arrested for.... There has to be more to the story.

I'll say it.....

The cop is a Texas Longhorns fan. End of story. :D

If true that could in fact confirm my breakdown of how it all went down.

According to the source, Peterson, his girlfriend, and some family members were at a nightclub in Houston. At closing time, a group of police officers entered the club, and they began instructing the remaining patrons to leave.

Peterson wanted to get some water before he left, but an officer told Peterson that he needed to leave. Some words apparently were exchanged, but Peterson eventually walked to the exit with one of the club’s bouncers.

It’s believed that one of the officers then jumped on Peterson’s back from behind and tried to take him down. (Key word: “tried.”) Other officers then joined the fray and completed the arrest.

Peterson was charged with resisting arrest, which implies he was being arrested for something else. He is charged for now with no other crime.

Peterson incident “all on video” | ProFootballTalk

The Houston Police Department says Vikings running back Adrian Peterson pushed an off-duty officer before he was arrested for resisting arrest at a downtown bar early this morning.

When the officer repeated his request, “That’s when Peterson told the officer that the group had heard him the first time and pushed the officer in the shoulder, causing him to stumble,” Smith said.

The manager of the bar told TMZ that Peterson was very drunk and a difficult customer all night.

Stupidity probably on both parts IMO. Sounds like All Day was probably guilty of a little contempt of cop...

Was waiting for something like this to surface. The comment section in the first link you posted was littered with nothing but people stating it was another example of police abusing their powers and looking giving AP a hard time just because they had a badge. Sadly even if they do hear/read the managers comments it will likely go in one ear and right out the other.

When you choose to disregard what the police tell you ......

I'm confused. He pushed an off duty police officer and then the off duty cop jumped on his back and others jumped in to arrest him and he was charged with resisting arrest even though he wasn't being arrested for anything? Is that the contempt of cop charge?

@fauxjohnmadden posted the video of Peterson resisting arrest on twitter.
