July 5, 201214 yr The roommates and I watched it live at noon on ESPN3. I was not pleased that they were showing the Wimbledon on both ESPN channels instead of switching over. It's an American tradition, one that I've watched every year for a while. Chesnut has no competition.

July 6, 201214 yr I used to find the contest somewhat intriguing. Now just disgusting. I find it both intriquing and disgusting at the same time.
July 6, 201214 yr My wife and I went to this contest in 2010. It was about 100 degrees and most of the fans were drinking heavily. I didn't love it, but I did like how the promoters took it so seriously, yet at the same time knew how goofy the entire thing was. I'll say this - there aren't many places like Coney Island on July 4th.
