June 19, 201214 yr Congratulations UKMF. I've owned several houses and farms over the years. One thing I've learned is this: the older I get, less is more. Take that for what it's worth.

I've been looking for the better part of 2+ years, and was starting to think I was never going to find anything. Now on to the scary part....cutting that dang downpayment check. :scared: :lol: Any words of advice for me between now and closing? (The deal is contingent on passing a home inspection and an appraisal) Your biggest challenge...IMO!!!

Second piece of advise is make sure you purchase an owner's title insurance policy. If you have a lender, the lender will generally require a lender's policy. It does NOT protect you if there are title problems. You must get an owner's policy of your own.

June 19, 201214 yr Congratulations!! Great time to buy with mortgage rates still at all time lows. If there is any way you can swing a 15 year mortgage, do it.
