Kind of hard to mistake a fastball and a slider, a changeup even more so.

Doesn't that send an alarm when Chapman comes in after a day of rest and can't break 95 mph?

That's one better than you big guy :D

I'm way over .500

Was that his top speed?

Was that his top speed?

I think 94 mph was Chaps top mph. He seems to throw 99.9% fasballs lately. If he can't get his velosity up in the high 90's or triple didgits, the Reds will be looking for another closer. Most major league players can hit fastballs with no movement in the mid to low 90's on a regular basis. Latos throws mid 90's with no movement and you say "he sucks". Righty, lefty, what's the difference?

To many runners left on base , two different innings.

Reds need bunting class 101. Pro players that can't bunt, what's up with that?

It was a bad bunt but a good slide and Harris is safe

It was a really bad bunt.

..........and it took a wild pitch or passed ball for Heisy to score. All these so called stud players need to take care of business when runners are on base.

Joey Votto, great hit in 10th inning with winning run on base, that's what I'm talking about. I'm still not sure if Votto is human, but he sure can hit.

CAn anyone find a site for a pitch tracker? I can't seem to find one. I wanted to see what Chapman was throwing.

Whether blocked or not in the Reds system both Alonso and Grandal are both BA top 50 guys and would have been coveted by a lot of teams
Grandal, maybe ... Alonso doesn't have the power you need from a first baseman. He was an overrated prospect from the start, and the fact that he was a small part of the Latos deal shows that other teams felt the same way.

It just seems like the Reds didn't really consider any other trades before pulling the trigger on the Latos deal...
And you know this ... how?

Just small talk I dont know anything, did I say I did? I dont remember doing anything more than questioning whether or not there could have been other possible trades they could have made with them pieces...I dont remember hearing any rumors or rumblings about being interested in anybody else and I was just saying you would think they would have shopped their pieces around and maybe they did...It just might have been a bad market for trading for a good young SP I dont really know...

Anthony Castrovince: Reds pay heavy price to acquire Mat Latos | MLB.com: News

Okay so I found this article and apparently the trade market was pretty bare so the Reds must of thought there wasnt much to pick from...The Reds wanted to acquire a top end guy to go along with Cueto and they pulled the plug on Latos or else another team probably would have...Once again I agree with the link that the Reds overpayed for Latos though and thats why I was kind of curious if they considered anyone else like say a Gio Gonzalez especially with the Reds lack of a left handed starter...
