Pigeon-holing Chapman into the 9th has sure worked out well

First save he's blown in the 9th.

Well, it was the 10th, but you get the idea. Putting him in that situation makes him a one pitch pitcher, which equates to him being very average.

June:

5 appearances with no runs allowed

4 appearances with at least one run allowed.

Bad ratio.

Scored upon in 4 of his last 6 appearances. There weren't many opposed to him closing. You and I were.

Can anyone explain why he pitched Friday?

He hasn't been pigeon holed in the 9th. Why does it make him a one pitch pitcher? He threw fastball, slider and changeup tonight.

Not unless Dumsty is a member of BGP.

I didn't see anything but fastball. Admittedly I went to the bathroom during Choos AB, but I didn't see anything under 95

I just don't get it. Did they forget they knew they didn't want him to go 2 days in a row? I'd almost rather they just state that someone else is starting the 9th with a 3 run lead b/c they are trying to limit his appearances. Mind boggling stuff.

I'm at the beach, so I'm going on the ML AB app. They showed that Chapman threw all 3 pitches. Still don't get your logic.

I don't think that was true but I'm not 100% sure.

Emergency thread shut down? :D

To many runners left on base , two different innings.

Reds need bunting class 101. Pro players that can't bunt, what's up with that?

It was a shame to lose that game b/c they had two great hustle plays to get a run. Oh well. Need to get one tomorrow and take care of the Twins this weekend. St. Louis is reeling so the Reds can still create some space.

Kind of hard to mistake a fastball and a slider, a changeup even more so.

Nope, UKMF is just banned from starting anymore. I think his all time record is probably 2-31 now. :)
