Reds at Indians Series 6/18/2012 thru 6/20/2012

Yes they did. When New York was really beaten up. Do you want to roll out those starters against that lineup and Sabathia, Pettitte and Hughes/Kuroda/Nova. The Yankees first two hitters get on base.

If they get to the World Series I'd be so thrilled I'd roll out GT, Clyde , Crash and still be happy.

I'm an American League guy so I automatically jumped to the AL. How do you think they match up with: Strasburg, Gonzalez and Zimmerman? All have sub 3.00 ERAs?

The Nationals beat the Reds 5 out of 6 or 6 out of 7 this year so it would be tough. I think Cueto is as good as anybody's #1. I believe Arroyo with his experience would do very well against the Nats. I would worry about Bailey's mental makeup in such a huge game.

So on June 18th you can pick one team as it is currently configured. Reds vs Nationals (not picking home field advantage) Strasburg vs Cueto, Gonzalez vs Arroyo, Zimmerman vs Bailey, Jackson vs Latos. Who ya got?

The Reds have to add a hitter or subtract a manager to have an advantage vs the Nationals, right?

I would have to say the Nats would be the favorites.

You know my feelings on Dusty, but I think they can win with him. If Rolen can stay healthy that's a pretty good bat to add to the lineup.

Rolen can be 100% healthy and he isn't the everyday player that will push them over the top. A trade is still necessary.

If Rolen can play like the way he did the first part of 2010 he's plenty enough to push them over the top IMO. I'm not sure there is a LF available that would give them a whole lot more than Frazier has. I would much rather go with a healthy Rolen at 3B, and Frazier in LF, and go for Ryan Dempster.

So do you think that Rolen is realistically ever coming back?

Probably not, but I believe the Reds offense is good enough to compete with the Nationals offense. I like the Reds chances much better against the Nats or any other NL team adding Dempster over a LF.

As long as Dumsty continues to bat Buddy Biancalana and Mario Mendoza in front of Votto I don't think Dempster will matter. No way Votto gets anything to hit and pitching wise the Reds still do not have a clear advantage.

The Reds have a much better chance pitching Dempster as their #2 over Bailey or Arroyo IMO. What LF is available that could hit in the 2 hole that would help them more than Dempster would?

Strasburg isn't pitching in the post season. He will be shut down after 160 innings. I would have taken the Phillies rotation over the Cardinals last year and we saw how that turned out. If Cueto can win game 1 of any series that gives the Reds an advantage. Haven't we seen in almost every sport lately that the hot team beats the best team on paper a lot in the post season? Get me there and get hot is all it takes to win a title.

If the Reds cant stop a team from stealing signals that's on them.

What exactly is the sign for belt high fastball anyway?
