June 12, 201214 yr If they don't play Rocky Top, you're not officially married. That's banned at all UK fans weddings.
June 12, 201214 yr Author If they don't play Rocky Top, you're not officially married. Lies. Rocky Top will be on my "Do Not Play These Songs If You Have Any Hope Of Being Paid" list for the DJ, as well as Proud Mary by CCR OR Tina Turner, Joy To The World by Three Dog Night, and Garth Brooks' entire catalog.

Whoa whoa whoa! No Tina Turner "Proud Mary?" I am going to have to re-evaluate.
June 12, 201214 yr Author Whoa whoa whoa! No Tina Turner "Proud Mary?" I am going to have to re-evaluate. There are lots of things that Tina Turner did a GREAT job of. Proud Mary is not one of those things. Funny side note, my dad hates Proud Mary as well. He told HIS wedding DJ not to play it. 37 1/2 years later, the moment where the DJ turned that song on at my parents' wedding reception still stands as the one and only time my mom ever heard my dad drop the f-bomb. June 12, 201214 yr My girlfriend brought up the idea the other day that if/when we get married, when we send out the invitations, on the RSVP card, for each guest to put down 2 sounds for the reception to be played. I thought it was a cool idea. I'm going to a wedding on the 23rd that had a song request in the RSVP. First time I have seen that.
June 12, 201214 yr I will be listening to the Naked Karate Girls this weekend at a reception. I am sooooo out of touch.

June 12, 201214 yr Well done, CWB. I would leave that reception with sore feet and a sweat pouring off my head.

June 12, 201214 yr Frankfort, but work in Lexington. I have gotten to where I mostly listen to country even though I like a lot of different kinds of music. This band falls under the "fun band" category. I doubt we'll hear much country on Saturday.
