June 3, 201214 yr Dusty costs the Reds another game. That's at least 5 games that can be directly attributed to his incompetence.
June 3, 201214 yr Dusty costs the Reds another game. That's at least 5 games that can be directly attributed to his incompetence. Please explain.
June 3, 201214 yr Why do you say they are easy going? What do other fans do that makes Reds fans and media easy going, comparatively speaking? I don't know, maybe running Terry Francona out of town after two World Series Titles and 5 playoff appearances in 8 seasons? Compared to Boston the Reds fanbase is a pushover.
June 3, 201214 yr Before Fraziers streak of 13 out of 14 started. Cairo's a solid player and he's been very valuable for the Reds. While Frazier has had some big hits, he strikes out 30% of the time... So you're agreeing with me that no matter what Frazier does it isn't going to be enough for Dusty b/c Cairo is solid? Thanks. That's all I said.
June 3, 201214 yr That's not a good example. Votto never had trouble hitting lefties. Not overall he didn't but there were some that gave him a little trouble early on.
June 3, 201214 yr Brad Lincoln never pitched for the Reds. He is a former 1st round pick for the Pirates. You are thinking of Mike Lincoln. My bad I stand corrected. Where is the ex-Red Lincoln? I'm surprised DMD didn't tear this apart. He loves these kind of things.
June 3, 201214 yr Please explain. Arroyo should've been removed as soon as a runner reached base in the 7th. Everyone could see he was done.

Do I need to figure out the total number of innings each has played since Cairo's return from the DL? Frazier is playing the vast majority of the time.
June 3, 201214 yr While I understand that Frazier has hit it well of late, I don't see the problem with playing Cairo. Obviously his 0fer today makes it seem worse, but I think we all agree that Cairo is and was the most clutch guy off the bench in recent memory for the REds. How can we argue the logic that he gets some time? It's not like he started for Votto. I'm certainly not a Dumsty proponent, but come on, hard to harangue him over that decision. Cairo deserves time because down the stretch and thru the grind of the summer, he's gonna prove to be critical.

Cairo wasn't fully healthy when he came back either. Can Frazier work his way to almost every day while Rolen is out or does his performance not matter because they need to get Cairo going?

I'd rather Frazier play, but I see why some would want Cairo to get time. All I said was no matter what Frazier does it won't be enough for Dusty. You're agreeing with Dusty on that. That's cool. DM tried acting like Cairo isn't playing that much. I was pointing out he's started 3 of the last 8 while Frazier sat.

June 4, 201214 yr Before Fraziers streak of 13 out of 14 started. Cairo's a solid player and he's been very valuable for the Reds. While Frazier has had some big hits, he strikes out 30% of the time... I'm sorry but I'm not buying the fact that Cairo is solid anymore. He has been a big part of this team in the past but he is now 5 for 37, (.135), and 2 for his last 21, (.095). That doesn't sound very solid to me. Imo the Reds don't have a solid sub on the bench.
June 4, 201214 yr There was nothing else for them to complain about. It's fine to agree with Dusty on that. I was pointing out your math was terrible. It was. Thanks.
