Reds at Astros Series 06/01 thru 06/03/12

Exactly, sitting Bruce once in awhile against a tough lefty is not a bad thing. It does allow him to play Heisey and Ludwick together and provides a good lefty off the bench for later in the game. I however don't want to see this become a habit. If Bruce is going to become a superstar, which I think he can, he needs to face lefties. What if Dusty sat Votto early on in his career against lefties? We all know how well he handles them today.

That's not a good example. Votto never had trouble hitting lefties.

It's pretty clear that no matter what Frazier does it's not good enough for Dusty.

He's played in all but 2 games since May 12th. Get over it.

Cool stuff with the dates and all. He's been benched 3 times in the last 8 games for Cairo. Get over yourself

He's started every game except 2 in the last 8. And he came in during the 4th in one he didn't start.

I'm sorry you don't understand the concept of late inning defensive replacements.

He didn't start Saturday against Colorado, he entered early b/c Leake sucked but Cairo got the start. He sat a game in Pittsburgh. He's sitting today. I'm sorry you don't understand 3 of 8. Can you explain that defensive replacement stuff for me?

I wasn't counting today. Since you know, it hasn't happened yet.

Why are you ignoring the fact he started 13 of 14 during a stretch in May? Frazier is playing the vast majority of the innings. It's pretty easy to understand.

When did Cairo come back from the DL?

Why are you ignoring that Cairo is getting his 3rd start in 8 games while Frazier is not getting those starts? Pretty simple to understand

Before Fraziers streak of 13 out of 14 started.

Cairo's a solid player and he's been very valuable for the Reds. While Frazier has had some big hits, he strikes out 30% of the time...

Frazier has become one my favorite player...With that being said Cairo needs playing time to stay sharp which he hasnt been this year and he needs chances to break out of his slump...He is the one bench player that might actually belong in the big show amd is valuable to the Reds...Everyfan got their wish Frazier plays the majority of the time now due to the Rolen injury and its been a blessing to the Reds although I wish Rolen the best...

The Reds have been good if I recall on the last game of a series regardless of Dusty running his B team out there most of the time...Out if the positions Cairo can play 3rd is the best place to give him a start without seriously hurting the Reds...We cant complain everyday about something Dusty does pregame, the results will speak for themselves...If the Reds lose for what we as fans feel was a bonehead roster move then we have the right to tear his decisions apart...I hate him as much as the next guy, However Id rather Cairo replace Frazier than Phillips or Votto...

Its not like this move has the feeling of just throwing a game, which Dusty has a tendency to do a lot of times...

A lot of people missed that memo.

That is the point I was making with my post above. I know it is the Reds fan thing to do - second guess every move the manager makes. It isn't a Dusty thing. It happens with every Reds manager. It does seem like it has become even worse over the past 15 years, which I am sure the non competitive years had a lot to do with it. And Dusty was done before he ever showed up because everyone thought it was a bonehead move to make him manager in the first place. I thought hiring Dusty was stupid also. But I watched him manage with an open mind and my opinion changed dramatically. I don't think he is the best manager in baseball, but he is definitely in the top 10. But I am sure we will soon be second guessing why he put the take sign on in a 3-0 count or why Latos threw a slider instead of a fastball. It is the Reds fan thing to do.

Really? The fans and media are pretty easy going comparitively speaking. 2 decades of mediocrity ( if that ) justifies any "second guessing"...
