June 4, 201214 yr They wanted him to test how his injury reacted to playing in the field. That was the big test. They obviously wanted his bat back on the bench over Harris. I'm not making this stuff up. Like I said I like Cairo. I'm not saying you're making it up. I just don't buy it. If he can play the field on a rehab, he can play the field in the bigs.

June 4, 201214 yr So what are you saying? Dusty was making it up? Sheldon or Fay? Something could have easily been lost in translation, especially since it wasn't quoted somewhere. It's my opinion that if you're able to play the field in 2 rehab games, you can play the field when you're activated. You don't have to have the same opinion as me.

But, maybe they saw something in those rehab games that made them not want to use him in the field any more than necessary after being activated. After all, the minor league games hurt no one if he isn't full speed in the field. His bat might have been okay but he wasn't ready to help them in the field. Even if the injury affected his baserunning they could have used a pitcher as a pinch runner.
June 4, 201214 yr Arroyo should've been removed as soon as a runner reached base in the 7th. Everyone could see he was done. Arroyo struck out the two previous hitters.
June 4, 201214 yr So what are you saying? Dusty was making it up? Sheldon or Fay? Well I was making it up at first so since this is the first he's heard about it obviously it has to be made up or complete fiction. Let's just assume he was 100% completely healthy and was able to play the filed. Doesn't the fact that he's playing more now for Frazier help my argument that Frazier can do nothing to get regular time? After all Frazier played 13 of 14 with Cairo 100% ready but now he's only started 5 of the last 8.
June 4, 201214 yr Cairo's a better defender than Frazier? That's pretty simple. Frazier came in today on a double switch because Cairo had just made an out the last half inning. I'm not sure what else I can explain. Why don't you look at the big picture instead of focusing on the past week. Cairo has been back and healthy, whether you want to admit it or not, since May 7th and has only started 5 games in that time. Frazier has finished 2 of the last 3 games in the field that he didn't start so I'm not buying your original argument that Frazier is playing less because of that. The only time I remember him losing an at bat as a starter recently is when Votto hit for him. That wasn't for defense.
