Conner has a chance to do something that hasn't been done in Hebron since '83, and that is bring a state title home. They are loaded with talent, and the leadership from the upperclassmen is outstanding. I drive past the school frequently, as I live in the area, and there are always guys out on the practice field, working. These are times when there are no coaches present, and the players have taken it upon themselves to put in the extra work. Running routes, running sprints and bleachers at 6 A.M. etc.. I have a few friends who's kids play on this team, and let me tell you, the sting from the 31-30 loss to Anderson County is still very present. They have a goal, and from what I can see, are working extremely hard to reach it.

 

They are returning many starters from a team last year, that from what I saw, had the talent to be playing for the title, but they just fell a bit short. I don't see them allowing that to happen again this year. Fogle, Barker, and crew have the talent and ability to make this dream a reality, and it all begins on 8/24 at 7:00 P.M. Should be an exciting fall under the lights in Hebron.

I am just saying they have 7 very tough games they might when they might get injuries it is a very long season. They play 4 6A teams, one state champ and CovCath who has the best QB in state.

I am going with Patveep on this one. Conner will have little to no problem beating Holy Cross. Conner is going to be REALLY good and Holy Cross is going to need to work hard again through the whole season to get to being a playoff threat. Losing Fuller at QB is a huge blow to Holy Cross. They don't come close to winning a title last year without him.

The same people said the same things when Arlinghaus left the year before. Fuller was athletic and Gabbard is as well. Conners advantage will be the amount if players they have. Same as last year. A mid august game with the heat will only help Conner. Player for player HC wins. I still give the edge to HC if the heat not out of control.

Last year Holy Cross was winning the first half. The second half Conner ran the ball and wore down Holy Cross I was reading the tread about last years game. Holy Cross has a lot of players that go both ways. They play each other in August so heat will be a major factor should be a good game though.

Saying it a factor. HC learned a lot in the first few games. Learned when they lost to Conner. The majority of this team was there to learn that and they will improve on it.
