UKfan- "Conner has no one who can cover Beal or Pouncy"

 

Have you ever watched a Conner football game? Your football intelligence amazes me.

 

Fogle and Mckeean play corner, and both can outrun most players in the area. I would even go as far as to say Fogle is a "shut down" corner. Whoever he covers will have a tough day at the office.

 

Fogle shut down South Oldham's Jacob Lamb who had one of the best statistical seasons as a WR in 5A

"Shut down" is such an overused term and it has such a wide degree of measure.

 

I'll say this. Beal is very good. I think Fogle will make it a tough day for him. He'll get catches but he'll have to work. HC will have to have something else working to beat Conner.

QB? Who said anything about a QB? Conner will have success, especially early on when it's really hot. The heat will wear down their opponents and give them a decided edge.

 

It's all about the weather brother.

Nothing is about the weather. Cooner (lol) should have a good year no question. But if you are looking for the weather to help you then your team has major holes. It will only help against smaller school and what good does that do your team? Conner should beat HC period. They as a 5a school should have no problem beating them, but they will, and they may loose. The fact that they could loose says more for HC than it does Conner.

Agree 100%. At this level no 1 player is going to win any team a game.

True but 40 yards recieving and 0 tds for a WR who had 925 yards and 15 tds throughout the season is definitely an "off-day" if that's what you want to call it. Not to mention Holy Cross had only 165 passing yards and 1 td and that's including a 24 yards TD pass off a botched field goal attempt in the first half.

That is a good observation. I am not saying I agree with it or that we will see similar result with Conner, but it is a good observation.

Beal and Fogle are special, special athletes period. Both are on a whole different level than almost anyone on the field.

The TD was a rushing TD.

 

HC scored a rushing TD by Beal from the 10 yd line following a Conner TO. The TO was a great INT by Lampone that set up the scoring play.

 

Their other TD was scored on a botched FG att where the snap went over the snappers head, the K picked up the ball and threw it to Lampone for a TD.

Does anyone else feel like UKfan lives in a different universe than the rest of us? I'll go back to my previous statement, you sound like a person who has never watched a game, and your football knowledge is lacking.. I believe Conner beat Holy Cross by 20 last year. That is not a close game, in any dimension, the point differential will probably be the same or greater this year.. and as for your beloved pioneers, you should be thanking the football gods they don't play Conner this year because I fear your heart may get broken.

Holy Cross was lead the first quarter 14 to 0 so it was close. How did all mighty Conner fair against CovCath and Ryle last year?

You Conner fans need to stay off the blue cool aid that they serve in Ft. Thomas.
