You are probably right.. they would lock him up, if they both guarded him at the same time, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind, because Barker would systematically shred SKs D to pieces while he was being double teamed. Because there are more weapons on that Conner offense than Fogle.

True but 40 yards recieving and 0 tds for a WR who had 925 yards and 15 tds throughout the season is definitely an "off-day" if that's what you want to call it. Not to mention Holy Cross had only 165 passing yards and 1 td and that's including a 24 yards TD pass off a botched field goal attempt in the first half.

 

I was there and remember Fuller being under a lot of pressure which is key to "shutting down" a stud receiver.

One big difference that many of us see is that Conner returns almost everyone. Dixie didn't and was definitely overrated to start the season last year.

Apples and oranges. Barker (as a junior) displays way more maturity (on and off the field) than the Dixie QB from last year. That should help to set a positive tone for Conner and also help alleviate any on/off the field distractions, which IMO, was the issue with Dixie last year.

I am not arguing your point. However, I vote we don't turn this into a kid vs kid debate. Not good for either.

 

His point was invalid due to the amount of experience returning.

Just felt compelled to state that I do feel Conner is positioned to have a very strong season, and much of that will hinder on the maturity, leadership, and physical tools that IMO Barker demonstrated last year and would think would be even more on display this year. Certainly, there are many other factors involved to having a successful season, but by only concentrating on the on the field issues should hopefully enhance any chances of success.
