Fitness Goals, Take 2

Have my sprint triathlon tomorrow morning. A far cry from the Ironman triathlon I did back in November, but this one will hurt more because I will be pushing it. I am hoping to be somewhat competitive in my age group. I still suck at swimming. Overall I have still been training hard doubling up 3 or 4 days a week. Last Saturday I biked 80. Do not know why since I hate biking so much.

I know we have others training for various events and staying in shape. Keep it up.

Doing Mud Stach in Lawrenceburg tomorrow. Should be fun. Have been doing a lot of running and lifting lately, but more running than anything. I was thinking about doing the full Flying Pig next year...

Like you said in the last thread bugatti, it should be on everyone's bucketlist. Well, I think I am going to make the push to cross that one off the list next year.

One good thing about getting older is that you get to move up in an age division every 5 years so I will be the one of the youngest in my division this race :D

Down 45 lbs! About a month from getting certification as personal trainer. I have discovered quite a passion for physical fitness. My new goal will be to help other people. Good luck everyone.

I could sure use one to get me motivated. :irked:

Just did a hour long Boot Camp outside in the heat it was ran by a Ms. Fitness friend and I had a beautiful view outside. :D

Finished 3rd in our heat in Mud Stash. Not bad, had the 1 pm start time and it was 90 degrees at the start. Still don't know my time yet...

It was an absolute blast though. Proud of my wife ran and finished as well! All in all, it was a great day.

11:57 swim, 2:01 T1, 39:26 bike, 1:32 T2, 20:19 run. 1:15:14 total time. Little slow on the swim but it was long as evident by the times. Bike was about .9 miles long which was strange. Transitions and bike I was happy with. Run I wanted to break 20. Little section we had to run on gravel that knocked off my pace by about a minute. Long time since I have done any type of shorter event. Those things hurt.

Where was it at, this seems like something I could possibly do at some point.

Tunica, MS. Memphis in May Sprint Triathlon. trifind.com has lots of Sprint Triathlons to choose from.

Standard sprint distances are 400 yard swim, 12 bike, 3.1 run. Maybe a little variation in the numbers.

That's good, bug. I'm working to get there one day. I figured my time at Mud Stash was 37 minutes. I think my time chip messed up. My time has not posted yet. Hills were killer, I'm talking straight up verticle. Good to hear all went well!

Currently in my 3rd month of crossfit and I'm addicted. I still do a strength training in the morning before work then go to crossfit after work.

Just started my 2nd round of 5/3/1 after about a 3 month layoff for various reasons. Went thru 5 cycles last time. Going with the same main lifts as last time. Squat, DL, Overhead Press and Push Press. Don't do the flat bench because I find it boring...supplement with DB Bench. Tempo runs and Prowler Pushes on non-lifting days.

Randomly I was looking around at events and saw a tri up in Coney Island this coming Saturday morning that my wife and I may do since we will be in the area. Another sprint distance race.

I am targeting a half-iron distance race for the late summer early fall but have not decided which one yet.
