Perhaps I need to see a video of it to fully understand.

Already loathing the hot weather. Got up and ran 10 miles this morning and had to take a couple of walking breaks. Next Saturday a group of us are doing the Tour de Corn in East Prarie, MO. What a way to celebrate my five year anniversary  May hang back with the Mrs. since it will be her first Metric Century.

I believe we are going up to Evansville for the Olympic distance triathlon next Saturday. September 1st will be a 100 mile bike ride in Clarksville so I have been having to pick up my biking of late which sucks. Then potentially a half IM in Alabama at the start of October.

I will also be up in Louisville volunteering for the IM on August 26th. If you are in the area you really need to come out and watch it.

My wife is biking 56 miles today and running 6. Her half Iron-man is in Augusta on September 21st or whatever that Sunday is.

I biked 56 last Saturday. Skipped the 6 mile run; did hill 10 1/4 mile hill repeats to compensate yesterday morning. :D

Sounds like she is ready to go.

My wife completed another Olympic sprint, finishing 2nd overall in the women's division at East Fork Lake.

Good for her. Did she do the Olympic, or the sprint? Kudos either way.

I biked 70 on Saturday. Never looked down at my odometer until mile 63 so I decided to plug on and hit 70. It started pouring down on me at mile 66 but I finished. The rain got me pumped and I was amped up with energy the last few miles. I could have gone another 30 pretty comfortably I believe. The pool was shut down last week for repairs so it was nice to get back in there this morning to get my breath back in action.

Is that you?
Absolutely...

Not. I can only do one at a time when I'm fresh and good and warmed up. And even then I can't do them during a WOD. They are so dependent on technique and I just don't have it done yet. I can't do them at all without using a false grip and it's almost impossible to use a false grip when your hands/wrist are sweaty. Need lots of chaulk.

We had a MDA benefit work out on Saturday. Consisted of 3 workouts with 3 mins rest between each.

WOD #1

400 meter run

then 4 rds of...

5 Squat Clean & Jerks (155/115)

3 Muscle Ups (can sub 3 pull ups & 3 dips)

5 Burpee Over the Box Jumps

6 Hand Stand Push Ups

finish with a 400 meter run

rest 3 mins

WOD #2

Row Max Distance in 10 mins

rest 3 mins

WOD #3

10 mins As May Rounds as Possible of...

10 Toes to Bar

5 Kettlebell Swings (53/35)

I ended up scaling the squat clean and jerk weight to 135lbs and I did just clean & jerk. I also did pull ups/dips instead of the muscle ups.

Worked in some turkish get ups and some jump rope training after Insanity Cardio Power video.

First time ever trying turkish get ups. Wasn't fun but it got done with correct form.

Turkish Getups don't seem that bad until you try them. TUFF!!

What he said!

I watched a couple youtube vids before trying them. A lot of people out there not using correct form. When you do them with correct form and fully extend your torso they are definitely challenging!
