Fitness Goals, Take 2

Featured Replies

I started dieting and exercising on Jan 1 and am down about 65 lbs. My next goal is to run the Bluegrass 10,000 in under 64 minutes. That is a long way from my original goal of simply completing a 5k. I still need to lose another 60 lbs to reach my weight goal

Very cool! Keep up the good work. You must feel a lot better. I have no doubt you can hit that goal with ease.

Signing up today for the Vegas Marathon. Strip at Night. I really wish I could qualify for Boston but I am nowhere near being able to accomplish that. Shooting to break 3:30.

I need a good goal but I haven't found anything that interests me, yet. I have lost 20 lbs. in just over 3 weeks. Working out like crazy...but not real goal besides having a good softball season.

60 HRs.

Had a friend that just ran in Boston but she's a beast, she is the type that would work out in the morning before work and then teach a fitness class at night as well.

As for me I'm working a normal 8-4:30 m-f schedule for another 3 weeks and it's made it so easy to make it to the gym at least 5 days a week.

Sounds like me the past year and half. Minus the "beast" level. :D

It is trait you find in all these people. Most that do the IM races are doctors, lawyers, etc. The median income was extremely high and almost all had an advanced degree of somekind. Besides being beautiful, single, or successful, you are describing me though I doubt my pending success

I hit 2 in the first game so I'm on a good pace! I only hit 3 over all last season...should be able to break my single-season record

:thumb: Wow! Sounds like you have already reached a goal!

Compared to everyone else here, I have a tiny goal, but it is still motivating me. Get out and run every day for 28 days---hopefully it will be a habit by then. On day 9......

Are you doing it part of the Runner's World running challenge?

I miss having come competition. I feel great about losing weight and getting back in shape but I need something to shoot for - some kind of sport or competition to get involved in. Does that make sense?

I don't particularly like distance running or anything like that. So I'm still trying to find something to get involved in.

That is awesome. I can do them on a straight bar, but not rings.
I tried one on a straight bar last week and it about killed my shoulder. Once I got the first one on the rings I knock out a few more. It definitely wasn't a strength issue but all technique.

Perhaps I need to see a video of it to fully understand.
