September 10, 201214 yr Author Today, my nephew completed the IRONMAN in Madison, WI. So proud of him! Very cool. I did my century ride last weekend in Clarksville. Took on Hurricane Isaac. It was miserable. I am 4 weeks away from my 70.3 in Alabama. Long weekend upcoming -- (1 mile swim, 40 bike, 9 mile run).
October 9, 201214 yr Hit a new PR on double unders, got 100 in row. The most I had done prior was 60.
October 9, 201214 yr Been going at it strong for a few weeks probably more like a month really. Girlfriend of 3 years and I broke up about 2 months ago, I was in the dumps for a while but then I realized how much she was holding me back from being able to work out and have really gotten after it sense. Decided not to drink all of October(Sober October) just to focus on working out and dropping some lbs. I have dropped about 20 so far and about 4 for far this month. Been changing it up at the gym being sure to do legs at least twice a week and have been experimenting a little with super sets. I've been lifting weights for about 12 years now but I'd never really tried super sets. I like the fact that it pushes you and really works up a sweat if you do it the right way which almost makes it like doing circuit training. So far so good but as I'm getting lower in weight I find myself wanting to get a little lower and lower. In addition I've also really changed my eating. No longer do I order food at restaraunts and feel the need to finish it which has also helped with money, I've started asking for boxes and often times using my lefts over as a second meal rather than a snack for later. I've never ever struggled with weight so learning how to lose it when I decided I wanted to has been interesting.

October 11, 201214 yr So tell me do you guys think this is enough rest between muscle groups. I'm breaking it down to 3 groups and trying to space them out enough so that I'm not over working certain joints because I have started to notice a little joint pain lately. I'm planning to do this for the next three weeks and then change it up to something different. The current regiment is: Day 1 Chest and Back Day 2 Legs, lower back and core Day 3 Tri's,bi's and shoulders Day 4 rest Then repeat, so it's basically a 4 days cycle always doing cardio but heavies on leg days. Just wanted your opinions on that type of cycle, also if any one has any suggestions I'm all ears.
October 11, 201214 yr Everyone is different. Listen to your body and adjust a needed. If your gains start to fall of or I your struggling through work outs adjust. You may try a rest day in between lifting days.

Just wanted your opinions on that type of cycle, also if any one has any suggestions I'm all ears. I go at it using a slightly different thought: Day 1: Push. Every motion is pushing weight. Chest, Tris Shoulders. Day 2: Pull. Every motion is pulling weight. Back, Biceps, Traps Day 3: Legs Core If you think about it, you engage your tris any time you're working chest, same for Biceps when working back. So those groups should be worked the same days. Also since you have totally isolated these groups, you can do them on back to back days. I do cardio every workout, what I stay away from is jogging. It's either a brisk paced walk 4.0 mph, or a slower walk 3.5, with 30 sec. sprint intervals. I lift 4 times a week, with one day of strictly ab and cardio. My workouts take around an hour and 15 minutes. 45 to lift. 30 cardio.
