Why Will You Vote For Romney?

Featured Replies

At this point I am not 100% sure I will. I won't be voting for Obama though, I know that much.
I don't want to let RM down.

PepRock's post pretty much sums up my thoughts to this point.

The economy will improve tremendously if Romney is elected.. Big business and the folks that run them abhor Obama and are going to sit on their assets until he is gone weather it be next year or four years from now. Romney will let them run their business without taxing and regulating to the point that it's not worth the investment..

Vote Romney, Obama picked North Carolina to beat Ky.

They had at least 6 years of low taxes and regulation under President Bush, I guess by your theory the recession should never had happened.

So is the state of the Union the President's fault or the Congress' fault? I never can tell by reading BGP.

It comes down, every stinking' term, of voting for the lesser of the evils. In my lifetime, I've never been just totally jacked up that a candidate is really someone I could totally support. With that said, I won't vote for Obama.

So by that rationale, does it really matter who the President is since you seem to believe that Congress is the only one who holds the flood back?

That depends on how good things are going and who was in charge of each.

Let's say you have a D POTUS and a R CONGRESS:

A - State of the Union GREAT - R's will say it is all because of Congress and D's will say it is all because of POTUS.

B State of the Union STINKS - R's will say it is all because of POTUS and D's will say it is all because of Congress.

For quick documentation of this, see cammando's post quoted above from the bottom of page 1.

I have been in business for a LOT of years. I don't know of any business that makes decisions based on whether they like the President. Business decisions are based on whether they can make money. A coal company might make a decision because the Obama administration makes them follow the law instead of ignoring it. Beyond that, not so much. There is only one reason money is sitting on the sidelines. Demand is too low. When demand picks up the money will flood in regardless of whether the president is Barack Obama, Mitt Romney or Donald Duck.

So, 'big business" is holding the economy hostage. Got it...and just as I've said in the past.

As to why I might vote for Romney, as I said in the other thread, I need to take a close look and won't do that till the fall.

Key issues for me are debt reduction/balanced budget, a plan for entitlements and how to keep the programs solvent, business friendly initiatives, stabilizing Middle East governments so that they can prevent Al Quaida/Taliban from gaining power and getting our troops out of direct conflict, finding a way to build on Obamacare and make it work. That is what comes to mind off the top of my head.

If I like Romney's plans and ideas better than Obama's and I like his character, then I will vote for him.

There is a lot of support for that position. Many will say that "big business" will let employees go by the truckload, offer to hire them back at something like 50% of former salary; or else hire back part-time or on contract so as to avoid paying benefits.

Not necessarily.. But if the government regulates and taxes them to death there is no reason for them to risk more investment... Would you?

I have not decided if I'll be voting for Mitt Romney or not. As far as businesses being "holding the economy hostage," that notion is not necessarily true. It is my belief that the reason for the economy being somewhat "held hostage" is because of there being such a large amount of injected uncertainty by both Congress and the PotUS. For instance, the recent 2 month extension of payroll taxes. Business must see that as some sort of joke. How on earth can a business properly plan an accurate salary outlay for an employee if they don't know what the tax rates will be in two months?

I am voting for Mitt Romney, because I believe he is the candidate to screw up the country less. As far as I'm concerned, to heck with the whole lot of them.
