April 25, 201214 yr Yeah just giving up trying to get you to understand our differing thoughts. It's pointless. He got 7 games. It's done and over as far as I am concerned. I understand that our thoughts differ, that's about as obvious as anything I've ever seen. But I believe you said it best yourself, and I'm not quoting you, but I believe you said something bout how you'd have to go back to the 80s to find something as vicious as what Artest did.

For an actual elbow to the head that connected. There have been countless other incidents that I put in the same category as both elbows is all I am saying.
April 25, 201214 yr Guess that means you won the debate. Congratulations. Artest is a thug. And an animal. Yes!!! #winning #hailtothevictor
April 25, 201214 yr 7 seems extremely light to me. You can't allow a guy to throw a serious blow to the head like that and only give him 7 games off. Lots of cheap shots take place in the NBA. Griffin gets mugged a lot. Elbows get thrown. None, though, rise to the level of the elbow to the head that Artest threw. I'm disappointed in the league.

I feel like 7 games in this situation is heavier than 7 in the middle of the season. He's essentially missing the first playoff series with that suspension.

Bynum received a 5 game suspension for his elbow shot against Dallas in the playoffs last year. There was no question about his intent. If five games is precedent for an elbow then MWP received 2 additional game because of past history. Seven games in plenty enough. Apples and oranges maybe, but a college brawl saw no suspension greater than six games.
April 25, 201214 yr And I'll continue to shake my head..... Wade threw an elbow into a dude's ribs. In retaliation. With malice. You can see what you want. And Wade has a history for cheap retaliation shots so whatever....smh. Love and Scola had history. In a previous game against the Rockets Scola threw a ball of of Love's crotch in an effort to deflect the ball out of bounds off of Love. The next time they meet Love sees Scola on the ground and stomps on his head. After the game he claimed to not see him and then he backtracked and said it was out of anger. Suspended two games. Again. Retaliation. With malice...smh. I guess he has to do it again to reach that thug status though. Were those incidents as bad as Artest? Nope. Never said they were. Just saying don't treat the Artest incident like an isolated incident. These kind of things happen weekly. I just put them all in the same category and you don't. Agree to disagree. Carry on. I know you have compared the Love incident to the World peace elbow a couple of times now. One thing that I think added 5 extra days to Artest's (Peace's) act was the end result of a concusion. The NBA has the ability to review the offense and seeing a man with a dirty shirt as end result versus a concusion (not to mention past history) gave them a reason for a more severe sentence.

I was actually surprised he didn't get more to be honest.
June 1, 201214 yr Now that we just saw James Harden 'bump' into a player after a made basket and also stare down an opponent after a missed dunk do people understand what plantman and I were trying to say about the gamesmanship that Harden displayed against Indiana Ron right before he was 'knocked the front out' by Indiana Ron?
