April 24, 201214 yr I've said the same things 3 or 4 times in this thread, only now someone is questioning me. Does anyone read everything before they post anymore? If you say it 100 times does it make it true no matter what? You keep saying this stuff happens all the time yet you fail to provide examples. Sorry but I haven't seen an elbow like that in the NBA...at least not recently.
April 24, 201214 yr I think its obvious he was going high. He didn't even attempt to lower his elbow when he hit him. He raised his arm up to his eye level and threw it directly at his head.
April 24, 201214 yr Erick Dampier Hard foul on Kobe Bryant - YouTube If that's the best you can do your argument just got weaker. None of those are even in the same ball park as what Artest did.
April 24, 201214 yr This shows how little you know. The majority of mentally I'll people aren't in a "psych ward." Being "mentally ill" doesn't keep you out of jail. A lot of mentally ill people are in jail or homeless or living life as hoarders, etc. And once again....you miss the whole point. You said, "when you purposely injure someone you go to jail." I said, "you go to a psych ward if proven mentally ill." now you are saying they end up homeless or life hoarders. Figure out what conversation you want to have and then get back to me.
April 24, 201214 yr Dude? Go back to my Cubs? Makes sense. You're talking out of both sides of your mouth and everyone other than someone who's into plants is commenting on it. One post you say you aren't making excuses for him etc. And then you turn around and make excuses for him. No, I don't give 2 crusty dog turds about the NBA. It's stuff like this that turned me off from the NBA years ago. I'm a casual fan at most, watching mostly for certain players. But I'm still entitled to an opinion. Artest is a thug. More of it has to do with no one ever holding him accountable and being allowed to do whatever he wants because of his talent. No discipline, and a bully="mentally ill." Give me a break. If you want to see people who are truly mentally ill, I can show you plenty. This guy has no control over his temper and is a punk. That's it. Anger issues aren't mentally ill. You're right. I'm wrong. I apologize for taking up your time trying to have an objectionable conversation. Have a good one.
April 24, 201214 yr Read the previous post. Guys shove, throw elbows, push, get into each others face, before, during, and after plays every night. In this instance someone took one in the back of the head, if he clears out to the shoulder or arm (which I've stated multiple times was the purpose AFTER they made contact, then we aren't even having this conversation. We definitely didn't have this conversation last week when Wade threw Rip into the bench with an elbow to the ribs. We definitely didn't have this conversation when Wade gave a concussion during the All Star game because Wade felt Kobe was getting away with fouls during the game. Two plays this year where Wade showed clear intent to foul hard, send a message, whatever you want to call it and not a peep. Guess the outcry only comes when a thug/animal does it.
April 24, 201214 yr Plays like this happen everyday? Can you show me one example? If you watched the Bulls/Heat last week you'd have multiple examples. Almost every game involving playoff teams had some sort of scuffle in it last week. Yes, happens all of the time. Jason Smith took Blake Griffin out a couple of weeks ago while Blake was in midair and then waved to the crowd on the way out. Not a peep from anyone.
April 24, 201214 yr If you say it 100 times does it make it true no matter what? You keep saying this stuff happens all the time yet you fail to provide examples. Sorry but I haven't seen an elbow like that in the NBA...at least not recently. Elbow to the head? No. Premeditated elbow to the body? Yes.
April 24, 201214 yr If that's the best you can do your argument just got weaker. None of those are even in the same ball park as what Artest did. Go back and read post 132. He never specifically said elbows to the head happen all of the time. He said physical play does and that in this instance Harden took an elbow to the back of the head.
April 24, 201214 yr It wasn't midair like I initially said but it is a physical and dirty play. Flagrant 2 foul, ejection and then he rallies the crowd. [video=youtube;foKWT-RD8UQ]
April 24, 201214 yr James Jones with both forearms into Joakim Noah's upper body face area. Ejection.
April 24, 201214 yr With the exception of the Jason Kidd foul and the Jason Smith foul these videos are from the last week of play. None were as malicious as Artest's elbow but they were all still malicious fouls nonetheless. A majority were ejections. Physical play happens all of the time. These are just the videos I could find. Their was a scuffle in a Pacers game last week as well. Shoot, when Blake Griffin dunked on Gasol a week or two ago he led with his elbows.
