April 24, 201214 yr What am I not following? If that's your finest, then I'm pretty disappointed. I'd liken that fine sarcasm to something my 13 year old nephew would cleverly retort. You're not following the conversation about how mentally ill people are treated after they are arrested and deemed mentally ill. I keep asking you and you still haven't answered.
April 24, 201214 yr No it doesn't. Again, scuffled and assaults are very different. This was no scuffle. So what Wade did was just a hard foul and not an assault?
April 24, 201214 yr I've answered numerous times! Mentally ill or not, you still go to jail. I'd venture to say the majority of prison population has some form of mental illness, whether it's bipolar, or some other anti-social behavior. Mental wards where "crazy" people were locked away were done away with decades ago.
April 24, 201214 yr Because of what happened or Artest's past suspension history? Because of past behavior. I'd have a much different opinion if this was an isolated incident.
April 24, 201214 yr All else fails, let's blame racism for The public outrage over Artest's repeated behavioral issues  Naw, just blaming you for your borderline racist comments. Animal? Thug? For actions in a basketball game? I thought thugs were people who broke the law willingly over and over again. Not for stupid actions on a basketball court. I love how you say he'll be arrested over and over again when he quits playing basketball. Seeing as how he gets arrested over and over again during the regular season and during the offseason. A real thug wouldn't wait until his career was over to start wilding out. Scratch that, a real thug wouldn't have a career. It's like thug is the politically correct way to call a black person a racial epithet nowadays. It's hard to tell the meaning behind it since black basketball players are branded thugs over and over again because of actions on the court. And then to call him an animal also. The stupidity behind calling a basketball player a thug for his actions on the court blows my mind. Period. I don't know what else to tell you.
April 24, 201214 yr I've read most of the posts here and am confused on one thing. What are we even talking about at this point? We all agree it was a dirty play, correct? We all agree a suspension is warrented, correct? We all agree because of the laundry list of previous offenses the suspension should be larger than a first time offender, correct? So what's left to discuss?

Also, what you say about mental illness isn't always correct. You most definitely do not necessarily go to jail.
April 24, 201214 yr Because of past behavior. I'd have a much different opinion if this was an isolated incident.Cool deal. I agree that Artest's past behavior warrants a stiffer penalty.
April 24, 201214 yr "Artest is a thug! [Turns channel to hockey.] Take off the gloves! Knock him out!"
April 24, 201214 yr "Artest is a thug! [Turns channel to hockey.] Take off the gloves! Knock him out!"Exactly. I bet hockey players aren't well-spoken either!
April 24, 201214 yr I do wear contacts and I am a candidate for LASIK surgery. I just don't put hard fouls and assaults in different categories. If a 'hard foul' injures someone for multiple games is it then deemed an 'assault'? The point that was made was that physical play happens all of the time. Elbows, shoves, hard fouls. You said show you proof it happens. I showed you proof. No. A hard foul is what it is. I've played basketball and fouled people hard but that doesn't mean I had the intent to injure them. I think it's very clear that Artest intended to injure Harden.
April 24, 201214 yr No. A hard foul is what it is. I've played basketball and fouled people hard but that doesn't mean I had the intent to injure them. I think it's very clear that Artest intended to injure Harden. I think the intent to injure is in every video I put up. How do you foul someone hard without intent to injure?

The stupidity behind calling a basketball player a thug for his actions on the court blows my mind. Period. I don't know what else to tell you. Hilarious. I think people who try to hurt people in all walks of life are animals. That's my definition of an animal. Trust me, when I see a white person, say exiting Wal-Mart punch little nerdy kid for looking at his girlfriend, well I call that dude an animal as well. Race has nothing to do with it. It's animalistic behavior To try and hurt people for no reason other than the fact that you can. White, black, green or purple, in my eyes you're an animal. I've made the same remarks about pitchers purposely throwing at a batters head. Sorry but trying to imply I'm racist is a weak and poor attempt on your part to win this debate. But I'll cry to Stern and go back to my Cubs .
April 24, 201214 yr And FYI, Artest has been arrested before, and surprisingly it was for assault
