Responsible? Not hardly. Never said that. Aware of his surroundings? Yes. I fail to see anything wrong with suggesting that Harden be more aware of his surroundings. I've played baskeball with crazy types like Artest(though not as extreme) many times and I was always aware of where those crazy fools were, their mood that day and I made sure I didn't give them a reason to go ape crap on me. Responsible? No. Aware? Absolutely. Is it Harden's fault? Of course not. Could he have avoided it? Yes. It's kind of like defensive driving, IMO.

He shouldn't have to be aware of his surroundings in that regard in an NBA basketball game! That's my point. If Artest is going to keep doing things like this, he needs to be kicked out of the league.

People shouldn't have to worry about what kind of mood he's in, or where he is at. It's professional basketball and he's the furthest thing from a professional.

His past proves your point.

Artest is hardly the only person that players should be aware of when they are playing. There are so many.

If the whole league can't play the game the way it's meant to be played due to Artest being a bi-polar maniac, then Artest doesn't belong in the NBA. I can't even wrap my mind around how anyone can say "well everyone knows how Artest is, stay out of his way." Artest has ZERO business being in the NBA anymore.

He's an animal. Period. If you behave like this in the real world, you end up in prison. If he didn't have NBA talent, Artest would be in and out of jail for the rest of his life. Once his playing days are over, he'll undoubtedly be arrested numerous times. You can't violate peoples inalienable rights in this country.

Yeah yeah yeah yada yada yada.

Go cry to David Stern.

^Clever.

Saying Harden Shouldnt have gotten that close to "a crazy man" is the same rational as saying a girl who got date raped shouldn't have worn such a short dress. I guess some people just don't care about victims rights.

Yea, let's just let Artest run rampant and do whatever he wants, including uncontested dunks and lay ups, and refusing to try and go inside to score, just so we don't set off a ticking time bomb who can maliciously attack and injure someone PURPOSELY. Dude has no place in the league.

The only ones who will be crying is Laker fans cause he's done for the year.

^Clever.

That's a huge stretch. Tremendously huge stretch.

If the girl goes on a date with a four-time convicted rapist(about how many known incidents Artest has had in his career) and then gets raped then I will say she probably should have known better. Keep in mind I am also I the camp that believes it was petty gamesmanship on Harden's part to move into the path of Artest. As I have said repeatedly Harden didn't deserve to be elbowed in the head. I cannot stress that enough because you people fail to realize that I am agreeing with you all on that part. I don't think he should be banned permanently. Playoffs? Yes. No problem with that. LAKER/KOBE OBSESSOR SAYING BAN HIM FROM THE PLAYOFFS. Permanently? No. Someone like Artest needs continued counseling and support from an organization like the NBA so when he does quit playing he doesn't continue to be an animal that will be arrested numerous times.

Mental illness is a sad thing. It's even sadder watching it play out for the world to see.

Those would be the Laker fans who believe that Artest would be the difference in them winning the title this year. When you see one let me know. HT and I both know Artest means little to their title hopes but keep reaching.

What does this have to do with victims rights? Both PP92 and myself said Artest should be suspended for his actions. What other action does the NBA have.

You think the Lakers are better without him? Right

Ban him from the league! This isn't the UFC. Stuff like this puts players futures in jeopardy. You can't risk that allowing this animal in the league.

Keep making excuses for him. "Mentally ill" is a cop out. In the real world, mentally ill or not, you go to jail when purposely injure someone.

But hey, he's mentally ill so lets just get out of his way and let him do whatever he wants and if God forbid someone gets in his way and he attacks them, then let's give him 2 games off and let him get back to being a psycho with carte Blanche. What a joke.

You think the Lakers are better without him? Right

Did I say better? Don't think so. I said whether he is there or not will not be the difference in them winning the title. Andrew Bynum is the difference. Not Ron Artest. Kobe getting the big men involved is the difference. Not Ron Artest. Pau Gasol playing like a man in May is the difference. Not Ron Artest. And that's only if you believe the Lakers can win the title. Which if you participated in any other NBA threads this season you'll know that I said it would be the Thunder and Heat with the Heat winning in 6.
