They all ways replace starters. There backups are as good or better as most of the starters on many of the they play.

Congrats to Waldo! Rose-Hulman is a great school, with a reputation for engineering, so he should enjoy that if that is his chosen vocation.

 

Rose's coach will be in his second year, and they made some noise in the Heartland Conference last year, so Jason should have a good time playing for the Fightin' Engineers!

Ya' know, sometimes hard-work & determination payoff in the end. Jase wasn't one of the "featured" players at HHS and had to work VERY hard to garner the playing time he got. If there was a vote on who the player one DOESN'T want to go against in practice was, Jason would win by a landslide. I'm really tickled that he's going to continue his FB career and will be doing it at the alma mater of my old teammate (and fellow O-line stalwart), David "Mercury" Morris.

Big Congrats to Jason! Waldo was a huge reason for the great success of Highlands passing offense this past season and he is a first class young man! This HHS family has never rooted for any team in the Hoosier state, but we will go out on a limb for the next 4 years and back the Engineers. No doubt Jason will be an impact player at Rose Hulman, a great fit for him. How exciting for Jason and his Dad! A fact about Rose Hulman is that Coach White recruits only young men that are not only talented on the football field, but only those who meet his high standards of having the right attitude and commitment to his team as a person. Big time success Waldo! Congrats my friend.

When Dale hit the booster up last month for some extra funds for extra equipment he said 92 var and 62 Freshman.

Wow, that is a lot of players and 62 in the freshman class alone. That is very impressive. Some schools wish they had 62 players in their program.

I have to think he will be in the mix at RB. That is gonna be one crowded backfield! I have watched a lot of Highlands football and he has one of the most explosive backs I have ever seen. If he gets to the 2nd level he is tough to catch. He also takes care of the ball, which is huge.

Agreed. One of the few HS running backs that delivers the hit instead of taking the hit, Alot to be said about that mentality.

The Birds are loaded at the running back position, probably one of the deepest I have ever seen, and I have seen a few in my day.

Coaches talk about their star RB being fast, or bullish, or quick, elusive, etc, etc.

Dale has a RB for all of those labels and more.

Probably 3 or 4 legit HS starters/stars on any other team who will take their turn, set aside personal accolades or accomplishments and do what they have been asked to help Highlands win.:thumb:
