April 12, 201214 yr 35 games played in four years isn't exactly the measurements of a top 10 draft pick. Which IMO is why it's not a bad trade for either team. Bengals get something out of him. Giants get a top 10 talent in a low risk/high reward situation. The giants don't have to have him play well to win. But if he comes in and plays well all they gave up was a late 5th round pick. They have two 4th rounders anyway. Also his injuries aren't ones that could slow him down like a knee.

Mike Brown has actually done a good job of this lately at getting good value in trades. They have made plenty of stupid trades in the past, but the last two or three years they have done pretty well in that department. Because just like you it is amazing they got a 5th round pick for him, when Ryans only went for a 4th round pick.

With the trades, last years seemingly great draft, and the hiring of scouts he finally looks like he has it going in the right direction. Hopefully it continues.
