Campbell County 9 NDA 6, Campbell County 9 NDA 8 (Frosh)

Recommended Posts

Congrats to the Lady Camels on a nice performance tonight after the rains:)

Just curious, on the freshman teams for both Campbell County and Notre Dame, are these striclty freshman teams or do some of the players play on the JV team also? Also are the teams made up of mostly freshman or do they have a lot of junior high girls? Again just curious. Everyone seems to do it a little bit different.

It had to be Notre Dame's JV team, because they don't have a freshman team.

NewCath's freshman team is nothing but 6th & 7th graders only.

I can't speak about NDA, but Campbell County's team is our eighth and ninth graders only. Some of the girls do play JV some do not...one of our eighth graders starts varsity. The pitchers for each game were one 8th and one 9th grader.

So you have no 8th graders or freshman playing? :idunno:

Bishop Brossart has no freshmen now on their freshmen team. As a matter of fact 5 of their best eighth graders are playing on the junior varsity team. The freshmen team has 10 7th graders and 10 8th graders. They defeated Dixie Heights 13-2 on Tuesday and the Bishop Brossart JV is undefeated. We have three freshmen on JV and one Freshman starting varsity on a team that is 7-1

Wow, you are very thin in the sophomore and junior classes. Looks like there will be lots of opportunity for more younger ones to play some varsity next year.

Are the 8th graders on the junior varsity team also playing on the freshman team?

Surprised there was no write up on BGP of the freshman victory over Dixie!

Well not that much. Our starting lineup right now is Pitcher (Freshman), First Base (Junior), Second Base (Senior), Shortstop (Sophomore), Third Base (Sophomore), Catcher (Junior), Left Field (Sophomore) Center Field (Junior) and Right Field (Senior). Top subs Junior, Top Courtesy Runners etc (Sophomores). We don't play kids both JV and Freshmen. We spread them out so that everyone was going to get to play. We moved up what we needed for the JV team and left some very good players on freshmen team.

Nice mix of players. Good to have a freshman pitcher starting varsity and knowing you will have her for the next three years.
