Who is Bart Bruner? What is his coaching background?

Former Head Coach at Southern High School and current asst. coach at ST. X.

He is a good coach. I wish him well.

If they go by resume you'd have to think Wally English:

former Offensive Coord. Pittburgh

former assistant Miami Dolphins

former Head Coach Tulane

former assistant Hawaii

former Head Coach Louisville Fire

Never will happen-great case of sometimes you can know people and get places, that won't happen in nelson Co.

Joe Jaggers? Wow

I guess he didn't like Bob Schneider getting ahead of him on the all-time wins list. He's been retired now as a head coach for what 4-5 years.

That would be interesting

I think they are talking about his son who is at John Hardin now.

His son, along with his grandson are at North Hardin, not John Hardin.

I am sure you are joking, but just in case you weren't Coach Jaggers isn't jealous at all of Coach Schneider. Coach Jaggers has been out of coaching for a while, but trust me, he still has the fire more than ever. I was fortunate to play for him and coach with him. He gave me my 1st job and I consider him a mentor.

Coach Jaggers in my opinion needs to be coaching. When you see, Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno still making a difference. He knows the game like no other.

I agree 100%, he needs to be coaching! You hit the nail on the head about him not caring about records, wins, state championships, etc. that other people may think he gets caught up in. I dont think I've ever seen Joe wear a state championship ring, he doesnt get caught up in that stuff.

In saying that, he is probably the most competitive person that I have ever known, and still is. Nelson County doesnt need to look at the age factor, if they do, they'll be making a HUGE mistake! :thumb:

It isnt his grandson that coaches at North Hardin. It is his son. He has another son that coaches at Mercer Co.

Joe Jaggers would be a great fit for any job that he gets because he has had this fire to coach again for a couple of years.

One son, Marty, is the head coach at Mercer Co. His other son, Crad, is an assistant at North Hardin, along with Joe's grandson who is also Marty's boy, Josh, who coaches with North Hardin's freshmen.

Job was offered to Mike Holcomb, but the money wasn't right and he refused to teach. The job was offered to Bart Breuner(sp) on Wednesday and he attended weight training on Thursday. I'd say he'll be in or out on Monday.

Late in the week there were a ton of rumors floating around that the admin. was going to repost the position and take applications?

Who is Bart Breuner and what is his bio?

I believe he has been an asst at Colrain in Ohio, HC at Lou. Southern (3-4yrs), and most recently an asst at St.X (2-3yrs).

No clue about his O or D schemes?

Bart Bruner would be an outstanding pick!

He turned the Southern program around some - now dropped back since he left - and has been a defensive coach at X for like two years.

All I've ever heard is that he's great with kids. Surprised he would want to leave the X den with what they have coming back but a this would be a great hire for Nelson and good opportunity for Bart!
