I hope that is the case for sure. Good young coach.

Be a great choice. However, he was let go the day before Wise was removed.

Who let him go, the AD or Coach Wise?

I hope that is the case for sure. Good young coach.

Josh Cook would be the absolute best Coach and Person you could ask for. The kids would benefit greatly from that hire.

What is his coaching resume? Has he ever been a head coach?

Coach Cook will enter his second season at Montgomery County but first as the head JV coach. He will also serve as assistant varsity coach. Coach Cook has previously coach at Knott County Central and June Buchanan.

Coach Cook was a varsity assistant at Knott County Central when they advanced to the Sweet 16 in 2099-2010. June Buchanan also won back to back WYMT Mountain Classic Championships in 2006-2007.

Coach Cook was also a standout player. He played one year at Alice Lloyd College before turning his attention to coaching. At June Buchanan, he was a four year starter. He is second all time in points, 1,803, and assists, 603. He scored a school record 45 points vs. Clark Co in 2002. Also in 2002, Cook was named the 14th Region player of the Year and a three-time All-State honorable mention.

Coach Cook teaches Physical Education at McNabb Middle School. He holds a B.A. in Physical Education from Alice Lloyd and is currently finishing his Masters Degree at Union College.

The AD states in this weeks Advocate, "if everything goes well applications for the position will be in this week and next and that they"ll have a new coach in place by sometime in mid-April."

This is the end of the second week. Any word on who has applied? When will interviews be?

I have heard from multiple sources that the job has been offered to Happy Osborne and it is just a matter of if he wants to accept the job or not. If this goes down, WOW!!!!!!!!

They can offer it to alot of coaches, dosn't mean they are interested. We will see.

Word I'm getting is that the deal with Coach Osborne is done. I'll do a little more investigating today.

I can't believe it , but that is what I am hearing also. They even said he was in the area looking at real estate. I guess I will wait and see.

That would be a feather in MC's cap; also a great addition to the 10th Region!
