OSU was clearly the better team for about 33 minutes tonight. Usually going to win if that is the case.

Great season for UC after everything that went on. Mick has the program back on very solid ground...

Gates didn't hold is own like I thought he would vs. Sulllinger. I thought UC's guards did enough for them to win, but Gates didn't.

Regardless, very nice season for the Bearcats.

Maybe after this they will start playing every year that is what got the ball rolling for UK and U of L to start playing was after the NCAA put them in the same bracket

Nope. OSU has zero interest in playing UC and the state government isn't going to force it to happen...

Exactly. Local folks forget that they don't care about hoops in Ohio, only football.

Not exactly. State government isn't forcing OSU to play the only other BCS level program in the state in football either. OSU isn't going to give UC any legitimacy in either sport unless it is on their terms, and there is no chance the state gets involved like it did in KY to force UK and UL to play...

True, but had UC dared to beat OSU tonight (likely Matta's biggest nightmare the past few days), I bet things would be a bit different in the statehouse. At least in basketball, anyway.

No chance. OSU has not, and will never have any desire to play UC in a regular season game unless it is a situation like 2006. They weren't hunting down UC after 61 or 62 either...

Right, but that was ancient times. Had UC come up with a big win over OSU in relatively recent times -- such as, say, in OT in the Elite 8 in 1983 -- it may be a different story in terms of pressure from fans and legislators.

Still say no chance.

Either way OSU was the better team, and outplayed UC for all but the run the start the 2nd half. Hopefully they meet up again in the tournament in less than 50 years...
