Well, shoot, NO boys (or girls) are ever complete angels.

Obviously I am not objective - but to me I thought it spoke volumes about following rules and NO ONE IS BIGGER & NO ONE IS IRREPLACEABLE. To be suspended for one game of the State Tourney - that could have been the end of the season. The potential impact on the entire team , etc. Who knows when the next time might be before T returns to Rupp.

Anyway....I thought it was 'strong" and felt good about the statement that is made.

 

Not like OSU - "we will let you play in the big game - and we'll do the punishment next year."

I know of a school where something similar happened on a out of town holiday tournament. The players parents were called to come pick up the player and the player was dismissed from the team and suspended from school.

To me its a GREAT move! Risky but great! Shows as Guru and others have stated, you have to learn there is a time and place dor everything, and the punishment may cost you, but you do learn.
