Did anyone catch the foul count. At one time it was Trinity 19 BE 3. Ridiculous!!!! It is true what they say, if your from Louisville it's 5 vs 8. I know I will get the "come on, you won" business but I had neutrals around me saying that it was embarassing. Including two BE fans.

Respect your opinion PP, but I think the water in the SEC and beyond is way to deep for him. Lacks the toughness I like to see in a player. Here's to hoping you are right and I'm wrong.

 

You gotta remember he's just a junior. He'll get stronger. At no point was it not evident he was the best player on the floor. Rakes and Troutman are nice players, but Willis just didn't have the supporting cast to take down a very good, well-balanced Trinity squad.

 

 

He had to play a bigger role than normal in press break against the best defensive team I've seen this year, and still dominated the boards despite a rough shooting night.

I loved the call late in the game where #1 from BE physically pushed Quick over the half court and they called over and back.

Just got home after the wreck on I-64. Nice win for the Rocks. Keep it going.

Trinity played very nervous for most of 1st half. Kudos to reserves Miles Rice and Demarcus Page who came in and played very well. IMO, Rice got the ball rolling for T tonight when he hit some big threes!

 

No production from Saxton or Hicks but I look for that to change in the next game.

 

On to Clark Co.

 

That is the beauty of this Trinity team.... Depth and Teamwork.

 

On any given night they have 3 or 4 guys out of 9 that can hurt you.

I watched the first half and I though Willis was outmuscled by the Trinity defense but he has a great handle for a 6'9 kid and can knock down the trey and pass like a guard. I really like his upside. I think he will get stronger, its not like he shy's away from contact, he just cant play through it right now. Trinity did a great job of having a body all over him on each possession that I saw.

 

Trinity has so much talent and depth, this is their tournament to win. The big kid going to Boston U runs the floor well and has a soft touch on his shot. They are just loaded plain and simple. Outside of a catastrophe I think they win the Sweet 16.

Nice win -- ugly win - but still nice. Congrats to BE on their season. YOung team they will be back.

I wouldn't go handing off the trophy just yet. You've got to remember they have a murder draw, where an off game will promptly get them bounced. Clark Co. will be no pushover, and a grizzled Rowan team could be awfully tough by Saturday morning.

I totally agree. Trinity will have to play two complete halves the rest of the way. Anything less will be a disappointing early exit.

I didn't see anything that made me feel like it was 5-8 tonight. Trinity plays aggressive defense and with out of region refs foul counts can end up lopsided quickly.

I think Trinity is going to wear GRC out. Could be a great defensive battle and fun to watch Fatkin and Dieudonne battle but GRC is going to get scoring from 4 people and that is it. Trinity has 7-8 guys that can score when push comes to shove. I am intrigued to see what GRC can do against Trinity.

 

 

Southwestern will beat Rowan County.

The fact that Trinity beat one of the top 8 teams in the state by 20 with Hicks and Saxton being invisible men on offense tells me that is going to take a tremendous otherworldly effort to beat Trinity this week. And if it happens I'll be there to witness it.
