March 8, 201214 yr One league source told PFT in response to the Klis report that there’s a belief the Broncos quietly have positioned themselves to make a significant push to land Manning. If successful, it makes sense. The only way to cure Tebowmania is to replace the current starter with someone clearly better, and a nearly healthy Peyton Manning is just that. Buzz builds that Broncos will make a run at Manning | ProFootballTalk
March 8, 201214 yr They would be fools not to look into Manning. If they determine his neck is healthy they sign him.
March 8, 201214 yr Author They would be fools not to look into Manning. If they determine his neck is healthy they sign him. Divine Intervention? And that is a serious question, I remember a national poll near the end of the season where almost 50% of the pollsters thought there was some divine intervention involved with Tebow's success.
March 8, 201214 yr Obviously, there are going to be many suitors (heard there could be as many as 15 teams interested?!?)...so Manning will likely be able to pick and choose his spot (given he's able to actually throw the ball, of course). So, if I were him, and you're looking at a short 2-4 year window...where could you go, where the majority of the pieces were already in place in order to go to the Super Bowl. And based solely on that...the team that keeps popping into my mind that has literally everything else except a dominant QB, that he could put over the top is...the San Francisco 49'ers. They've got a great defense (so he doesn't have to score 35 points a game just to have a chance to win it)...they've got a very good running back in Gore (so not only someone to shoulder the load offensively, but would make play action a huge weapon)...and they've got a stud at TE in Davis, and some young talent in the WR's (Crabtree). Toss in a reliable kicker in Akers, and you've got darn near the entire package gift wrapped for you. But, if you trust the talking heads, they say San Fran is committed to Alex Smith. Guess we'll see.

My disdain for Peyton Manning is well-known on this board. However, because my disdain is exponentially greater for the blithering morons who make up the 50 percent you speak of, I am cheering very hard for this scenario.

So under your estimation, they are blithering idiots because; a. they are people of faith b. they are Tebow supporters c. they don't know football, any blithering idiot would know that Tebow was succesful due to his skills and talent d. all of the above e. none of the above
March 8, 201214 yr ^ I'm guessing because only a blithering idiot would believe Tebow's success is divine intervention. I guess that would be E.

Or are you one of those who think that if someone doesn't like Tebow they are anti-Christian?

Or are you one of those who think that if someone doesn't like Tebow they are anti-Christian? Dude, you got some issues? God doesn't give a hoot about a game, but he does about people Tim has started less than 10 games and went to the playoffs because he worked hard and won. Look at all the successful people who have done well in their sport plus the coaches, did they have devine intervention? No, they worked hard as a team and won. Sorry, I wasn't banana slug, but this guy just doesn't get it. And its getting really old.
March 9, 201214 yr I think Peyton going to the Broncos would only help Tim. Peyton is a master at hard work and is a great student of the game. Tim would only learn from Peyton. I think Peyton will be a Head Coach someday. The only draw back is Peyton doesn't like to come out of a game.

Sorry, I wasn't banana slug, but this guy just doesn't get it. And its getting really old. Yeah, I have issues with people who think God cares enough about the outcome of a freakin' pointless football game to suggest He would favor Tebow's (or anybody else's, for that matter) team over another team. That's what's getting old, as is the implication by those kind of people that if you don't cheer for Tebow or believe the Lord is taking a direct interest in his success -- at the expense of other teams, likely also with many devout Christians among their ranks -- then you are by extension anti-Christian. It's dumb, and I'm going to continue to call attention to the stupidity and absurdity of it as long as it continues. Guess I'll be busy for a while. I'm not sure if your last sentence is talking about me or who it's referring to.
March 9, 201214 yr No, its you. It just seems to me you just set around waiting for a topic about the Christian Faith and you want to bash the Christians on here. I'm always defending why I believe to you and others to, to be fair. And it does get old. I enjoy your comments other wise, but where do you see me jumping on topics you believe in? Where? Only in the defense of the Christian faith. We go around and around doing the same ole stuff. I'm not gonna change the way I believe but hope to change the way you and others do. Its what we are told to do. 1st Peter 3:15/16, Notice where I said God doesn't care about the game, and I agree that a lot of folks might say God had a hand in what Tim does? But when Tim prays for a win, there are devout Christians on the other team who are also praying, so they rule each other out. God loves that person equally with Tim, those people don't understand the nature of God. If I call attention to stupid remarks made by all people...well, I don't have that much time. Hope you can see my point in my comments and not said in any type of anger. Mainly just curious on why you and others jump to situations on our Faith .Also do you research any of the scripture verses I have shared on here. I do that to help others, not to hurt.

Or are you one of those who think that if someone doesn't like Tebow they are anti-Christian? In one way or another, any success that is positive occurs by divine inervention. Whether that extends to a team winning a game is another matter. But it can't be denied that Tebow's success has gotten people talking about Christ -- and that is a good thing.
