Mercy leads Courier Journal's preseason girls basketball Top 25

The girls preseason rankings are here. Mercry comes in at #1 which I don't think is a surprise to anyone.

 

GRC in comes in at # 2. They only lost one starter from last years final 4 team that lost to the the eventual state champs.

 

Haley Harrison is ranked in the top 3 canidates to win Miss basketball. You can check out the rest of the top 25 team in the link below.

 

Here is the Courier Journal's preseason girls basketball Top 25, as voted by the state's coaches. First-place votes are in parentheses:

Region: Sixth

2017-18 record: 25-10

2. Clark County

Region: 10th (14)

2017-18 record: 28-8

What to know: Junior guard Kennedy Igo leads four returning starters

 

3. Sacred Heart (11)

Region: Seventh

2017-18 record: 29-6

What to know: Talented Valkyries battling slew of early-season injuries

 

4. Ryle (4)

Region: Ninth

2017-18 record: 29-7

What to know: Juniors Maddie Scherr, Lauren Schwartz a tough 1-2 punch

 

5. Scott County (2)

Region: 11th

2017-18 record: 31-3

What to know: Tennessee Tech signee Maaliya Owens leads Cardinals
