(37th District semifinal)

Brossart junior lefty Zach Hamberg with the 2 hit complete game gem on Tuesday night as the Mustangs advance to the 37th District final with the win over Scott. Hamberg allows zero walks and only throws about 75 pitches in the 7 innings. Faces just 2 batters over the minimum. Great defensive game on the mound. Junior catcher Trent Parker called a great game behind the plate and gunned down 2 on steal attempts. Only 1 batter reaches second and he was immediately erased trying to advance to third after ball rolls away from second on a steal. Scoreless game until top 7 when Hamberg leads off with Brossart's first hit of the game, steals second and scores on a base hit by senior Ian Bracke. Jake Sendelbach with a run scoring base hit followed by successful suicide bunts by Bryce Kremer and Nathan Bezold, a wild pitch, and a bases loaded walk adds 5 more runs. Ian Bracke with his second hit of the inning drives in 3 runs on a double to the wall in left center to finish the scoring. Bracke with 4 rbis for the game. Nice crowd on hand of Brossart fans and students. Good luck to the Mustangs in the district final and the regional!
