10th Region Rankings 2-4-16

1.Mason County (18-3):

Despite losing to #2 Campbell County, the Lady Royals stay at #1 this week. The Lady Royals had won 5 straight and 10 of their last 12 before heading into the game with Campbell County. Junior guard, Whitney O’Mara led Mason County with 11 points.

 

Lady Royals will travel to Rowan County on Wednesday, host Nicholas County on Friday.

 

 

2.Campbell County (15-5):

Campbell County fell to region foe Covington Scott back on January 16th, since then the Lady Camels have won 4 straight and 6 of their last 7 games. One of those 4 straight wins came against #1 Mason County.

 

Lady Camels will host Mercer County on Thursday and travel to Grant County on Saturday.

 

 

3.Scott (12-9):

Lady Eagles have took a step back from earlier in the season. Lady eagles are just 1-3 in their last 4 games. Scott’s only win during that stretch came against GRC 68-63. Lady Eagles were led by Anna Clephane who had 24, Summer Secrist and Alexis Stapleton both had 17 in the win over GRC.

 

Scott will now prepare to face Notre Dame on Thursday.

 

 

4.George Rogers Clark (11-9):

Much like the Lady Eagles of Scott, the GRC Lady Cards are also struggling, winning 1 out of their last 4 games, just like Scott. GRC’s lone win came against Harrison County in blowout fashion. Sydney Anderson and Elizabeth Hardiman both had 14 to led the Lady Cardinals.

 

GRC will now travel to Bourbon County, a team they defeated 56-43 earlier in the season, on Friday. GRC will then return home Saturday to host #5 Bracken County.

 

 

5.Bracken County (14-6):

Since their beat down by Harlan Independent, the Lady Bears went on two win their next two and with those two wins, the Lady Bears have won 9 out of their last 10 games. Those two wins came in 30 point fashion, defeating both Dayton and Ludlow.

 

Bracken County will travel to both, St. Patrick and GRC on Friday and Saturday.

 

 

6.Montgomery County (7-15):

4 of the Lady Indians 7 wins have came against region opponents. The Lady Indians was able to get some sweet revenge on arch rival, GRC, as the Lady Indians defeated the Lady Cards 56-53 at GRC repaying the loss after GRC came into Mt. Sterling and defeated the Lady Indians 65-52.

 

Sarah Arnett and Kenedy Igo both had 19, Delaney Bromagen added 17 for the Lady Indians.

 

 

7.Bishop Brossart (8-12):

The Lady Stangs’ continue to struggle, losing 4 straight and have won just 5 out of their last 15 games, however, 4 of Brossart’s 8 wins are against region opponents.

 

Bishop Brossart will travel to Harrison County on Friday.

 

 

8.Nicholas County (12-10):

Lady Jackets are 4-5 in their last 9 games. Good thing for the Lady Jacket’s is that they are 8-3 against region opponents this season. Lady Jackets fell to the Powell County Lady Pirates this evening 58-45 on their own home court, a team that the Lady Jackets defeated earlier in the season 39-33.

 

Nicholas County will travel to Mason County on Friday looking to knock off the #1 team in the region.

 

 

9.Bourbon County (12-11):

Lady Colonels had a rough start to the season, going 5-10 until January 11th where they would get things on the right track. Since January 11th, the Lady Colonels have won 7 out of their last 8 games, that lone loss came to region opponent #5 Bracken County.

 

Bourbon County will look to continue their momentum Friday when they host GRC.

 

 

10.Harrison County (7-16):

Harrison County continues to struggle and struggle badly, Lady Breds have now lost 6 straight. The closest game during that 6 game skid, was a 43-36 loss to Pendleton County.

 

Lady Breds will host Brossart on Friday.

 

 

11.Pendleton County (8-11):

Pendleton County had a good stretch there at the end of December, early January winning 3 straight games but have since taken a step back, winning just 2 of their last 8 games.

 

Pendleton County will host Estill County on Saturday.

 

 

12.Paris (8-12):

Lady Hounds got their 5 game skid streak snapped when they defeated Riverside Christian, Paris also picked up a win over Robertson County.

 

 

13.Calvary Christian (8-11):

Calvary Christian is riding a 3 game winning streak as they head into the week.

 

 

14.Augusta (5-16):

3 of the 5 wins for the Lady Panthers have came against #15 St. Patrick.

 

 

15.St. Patrick (7-17):

St. Patrick is struggling really really bad right now, winning just 1 game since the new year, in fact, the Lady Saints are 1-11 since January 1st.

 

 

16.Robertson County (3-14):

Robertson County is 2-2 in their last 4 games with those wins coming against St. Patrick and Silver Grove.

 

 

17.Silver Grove (0-14):

Silver Grove is still struggling to put wins up on the board.
