Scott 13 Bishop Brossart 7

Recommended Posts

Mustangs send ace Clay Kramer (Cinci Christian U) to the mound to oppose Scott sophomore sensation Jake Ohmer, in a key 37th District seeding battle. Campbell County had already defeated the Eagles, and Brossart will play them this coming Saturday in Claryville.

The Eagles struck early, plating 3 first inning runs. Brossart answered with one of our own to make it 3-1. Scott struck again in the top of the second with a run, giving them a 4-1 lead, answered by the Mustangs in the bottom of the second. The score stood 4-2 Scott through the top of the fourth when the Eagles tacked on another pair, giving them a 6-2 lead, which would stand until the bottom of the fifth, when Mustang Tyler Sansom delivered a grand slam home run, to catapult the guys in green to a 7-6 lead, but that was as close as the Mustangs would come to winning on this afternoon. Scott repsonded with two in the top of the sixth, and five more in the seventh to seal the 13-7 win.

Brossart plays Campbell County on Saturday, and could throw the 37th District seeding race into a three-way tie with an upset of the Camels. Should the Camels take care of business with the Mustangs, they will become the top seed, setting a date between the Mustangs and Eagles in the upcoming district tournament.
