Lexington Catholic 38 Pikeville 6
bluegrassfootball replied to Farva's topic in KY Football (High School)
IMO this game was not even a close game. The score should have been alot higher. LC moved the ball on there defense all night. Pikevilles offense was not as sharp as I had seen. They turned the ball over alot, but thats what a pretty good defense will do to you. Pikeville's only score came in the 4th quarter. The good thing is though is that Pikeville could and should only get better from this game. Now to the officating of this game. I was not very pleased with the officating at all. It seemed like everytime LC got a good run (there were alot) the refs called a penalty. There was even a penalty for offensive helmet to helmet on the running back. You dont see that to often. Alot of tick tack stuff like that was being called for this game. Alot of penalties on catholic that you dont see very often. Anyways good luck to the panthers of Pikeville. Good luck in the 1A playoffs. -
Pikeville vs. Lexington Catholic predictions
bluegrassfootball replied to Booge's topic in KY Football (High School)
IMO this game should not be that close of a game but it could always shape out to be a decent game. My question is who is Jordan Johnson. I have heard some things like that he is being recruited by EKU. Does anyone know anything about this young man. For the prediction though..... LC-49 P-17 (10 points coming on the JV team) -
X by 14 if everyone is going to be healthy.

Israel will play next week vs Pikeville. We kept him out this week cause it wasnt qutie fully healthy. But yes he will get some PT against Pikeville. -

Hats off to X. They came with a good scheme and it worked. Israel was still out of the game but will return next week. My question is how much time does X spend watching past film and scouting. They knew and could call out each and every play that catholic ran. This shocked the heck out of me how a team could know what the other team was running. Great job scouting. Good job X and good luck the rest of the season. -
St. X Versus Lex. Cath Predictions
bluegrassfootball replied to bluegrassfootball's topic in KY Football (High School)
There is actually alot of difference this year. I dont want to make an excuse for a 47-0 game but its alittle different. Last year it was Lexcaths first game of the season due to probation. Not to mention that they had basically new guys at basically at all of the positions except for RB, WR, DB, NG and MLB. Thats alot of new starters. It is at catholics house where they do play alot better. And by the way even though duece torched them, they are missing Vic which is huge. -

St. X Versus Lex. Cath Predictions

This should be a great game with a ton of people that will come out to see the game. The loss of Israel hurts but I still think that the knights will pull it out. LC-17 X-14 -
Might as well get this one started. This should be a great football game to watch. This game should come down to the wire. Any thoughts or opinions? LC-17 X-14

Hey fatdad. No crow for me tonight. I guessed 35 and it came out 31. It should have been more but its ok.

Good win for the knights tonight. The defense played outstanding holding the good Scott Co team to just 7 points. Special teams were a huge factor as well. Winston Guy returned a punt tonight. The offense was good on its opening 2 drives. It got a little shaky but at half time it turned around and they put up some points. The replacements for Israel did a good job in my opinion. They have a huge task infront of them in St. X. Good luck.

Henry Clay at Boyle County

I think that HC is alittle much for Boyle co to handle in this one. HC-35 BC-24 -
Any thoughts? I feel that this game wont be as close as past years. LC-56 SC-21

Lexington Catholic 65 Althoff Catholic 28
bluegrassfootball replied to Bright Horizons's topic in KY Football (High School)
Im not positive on the yards, but I think about 200 total yards. He had 3 running touchdowns and 1 recieving touchdown. He got all of this before the the 2nd quarter even ended. I hope that the young man gets healthy soon, because i really want to see him vs. St. X, but make sure your healthy first. -
Best team in Lexington?
bluegrassfootball replied to lexingtonFbfan1's topic in KY Football (High School)
You honestly put Lafayette above Lex Cath. Are you for real? Did you not see Lex Cath beat up on Althoff Catholic, which was supposed to be a good game. They are probablly the number 1 team in Lexinton let alone the number 3 team. How is Creek being underestimated, they lost to Cambell Co. by 14 points. -
Shane Israel--200 tot with 4 TD's, despite getting hurt in the late 2nd quarter

Lexington Catholic 65 Althoff Catholic 28

I went to this game tonight and it wasnt even close. Lex cath dominated the whole entire game. Jason Ford is a decent power back but doesnt have to many weapons around him. Lex cath contained him pretty well. The D looks much improved, even scoring a defenseive touchdown. The knights offense is amazing. I havent seen such a good, big o-line in a while, to compliment a freak at running back in Israel. Ward the quarterback had some nice passes tonight. He looked good throwing the ball. I am very impressed with catholic and am not at all impressed with Althoff. They looked out of shape and tired. I look foward to seeing the knights play more this year. -
Best team in Lexington?
bluegrassfootball replied to lexingtonFbfan1's topic in KY Football (High School)
I Feel that Lex Cath has the best team in Lexington this year. 34 seniors is really hard to compete with. They have a high powered offense that will put up big numbers and a very solid defense this year. I would like to say though that Henry Clay is also a solid team with playmakers at QB and WR. I would put Catholic number 1, with a close Henry Clay at number 2. -
Best off line in the state
bluegrassfootball replied to 859footballlife's topic in KY Football (High School)
I feel that Lexcath will have one of the best o-lines in the state. They are returning 4 starters that are beast. They have a great runningback in Shane Israel. Im looking to see Israel pick up 1600 yards and 20 TD's behind a very talented and big O-line.
