Johnson Central 74 Lawrence County 72 OT (57th District Finals)
Sounds like another incredible game. Amazing how far Josh Cook has brought Lawrence County in a two short years. Any chance there is a rematch in the regional finals?

Woodford County 67 Franklin County 66
This was a great game. Both teams were making big shots down the stretch. Hundley is one of the elite young coaches. Boggess is an overachieving winner and lots of fun to watch.

Glad to see this score. Would love to see the Cougars as district champs and making a run at the region.

Will Jones be ok for district tourney games this week?

Lafayette's Jackson Davis Re-Opens Recruiting
Cats should give him a scholarship. Hawk, Willis and Davis would be a nice core to put the 1 and done guys around.

Sports > High School Sports > Mike Fields' Notebook High school notebook: Manager's shot at glory makes memories at Woodford BY MIKE FIELDS [email protected] 20, 2014 Updated 3 hours ago FacebookTwitterGoogle PlusRedditE-mailPrint Marcus George attempted a free throw during Tuesday night's junior varsity game at Woodford County against Bullitt East. (Rick Capone | The Woodford Sun) RECENT HEADLINES High school notebook: Manager's shot at glory makes memories at Woodford 3 hours ago It was a late-season junior varsity game that was lopsided in favor of the visiting team. So why were Woodford County fans whooping it up in the closing minutes of a 63-43 loss to Bullitt East on Tuesday night in Versailles? Marcus George gave them reason to cheer. George, a Woodford County senior, has been the basketball team's manager for four years. The Yellow Jackets' coaches and players, looking for a way to thank him for all his hard work, talked George into pulling on a uniform for the last home game of the season. George didn't know it, but there was a conspiracy afoot to get him some playing time. With less than four minutes left, when Woodford County sophomore Mason Robinette was fouled, he faked an injury so that George could enter the game to shoot his free throws for him. Alas, George missed both attempts. Undeterred, however, and with the cooperation of Bullitt East's intentionally lax defense, George hit a layup and two three-pointers to the delight of Woodford County's fans. "Everybody went nuts," Jackets Coach Scott Hundley said. "It was one of those moments they'll always remember." There was more. When Jackets JV coach Ryan Wilson took George out of the game in the final seconds so the crowd could give him an ovation, Wilson held up his hand so George could high-five him. George was so excited he slammed Wilson's hand back into the coach's nose. "We all thought Ryan was crying because of emotion, but it was because Marcus busted his nose," Hundley said with a laugh. "You can't make this stuff up." Hundley appreciated Bullitt East's cooperation in letting George score. "They helped make what was a genuine good moment." On his drive home Tuesday night, Hundley said he was overcome with emotion, looking back not only on Marcus George's moment in the spotlight, but also Woodford County's 71-69 win over Bullitt East in the varsity game, and his freshman team's district title the night before. "Between tears and smiles, it was awesome. Cool stuff," Hundley said.

I posted this in the Woodford v B. East thread but it deserves it's own thread. Good stuff from Coach Hundley and Coach Wilson. High school notebook: Manager's shot at glory makes memories at Woodford | Mike Fields' Notebook | Kentucky.com

High school notebook: Manager's shot at glory makes memories at Woodford | Mike Fields' Notebook | Kentucky.com Awesome stuff. Hundley and Wilson are top shelf people and top shelf coaches. Love this story. Also very cool of Bullitt East to go along with the idea.

Some tweets saying that Gilbert became the all time leading scorer in Scott Co history tonight. Don't know if that is accurate or not, but I saw more than one Card fan post it.

At Madison Central is a tough place to get a win.

Scott County 82 Henry Clay 70
This one was close for the vast majority of the game. The HC guards really pressured the ball well all game, but with Green out they had no answer for Long down low. Gilbert is fun to watch.

So you're for a zero tolerance policy here. I'm not. I value the kids who ARE "innocent" more than that.

I'll take your word, but Omar and Tyler Jones were both very very good.

Injunctive Release Issued today in Franklin County Court against the KHSAA
I'm not understanding the logic... You want to change the rule so that it does treat kids wrong? Not seeing the connection.

Would they have lost to last year's MoCo team by 20?

As I posted in the other thread... Undefeated with a big target on them, emotional comeback win against arch rival GRC last night... I wouldn't put too much stock in an off game tonight.

If a kid has a parent that gets a job transfer from one city to another and the kid has to sit out a year, that is wrong.
