With all due respect to Ricky Bowling, who is a fantastic player, but I don't think there is any chance that Mr. Football should come from a 4-7 team (with wins over teams that went a combined 11-32) who was shutout in the first round of the playoffs.

Agreed..last year I think Belfry was 3-4 TD's better..this year I think that gap is more or less 2-3 TD's. There is a huge difference in 3-4TD's and 2-3TD's... last year Belfry had room for error, this year I don't think they have that same cushion. And don't even get me started on next year with what this young Bobcat team has coming back becase frankly I prefer not to think about it.

Something that surprised me last year when I saw Breathitt was how down their numbers were. It seemed like only a few years ago the Bobcats were dressing 60+ players..but last year they only appeared to have a handful over 30-35. I know numbers are down everywhere, but this really surrised me considering the success Breathitt's program ahs sustained for so long. I also felt like it really hindered the Bobcats against Belfry because the lack of depth up front was apparent, and Holcomb seemed very reluctant to sub out. As a result, Belfry just grided them down by late in the game (I think it was fairly evident that the final score didn't really reflect how the game would turn out if they played ten times for the record).

How about some type of cage that attaches at the top of each upright. It extends back parallel with the ground for about 2 feet. It then right angles up, and runs about ten feet high. Another plane parallel with the ground then comes out and back over to where it is directly aligned with the top of each upright. It would like like a 3-D "C".. the issue now would be kicks from an angle that cut across the planes...maybe enclosing the net would work?

I honestly don't think one missed field goal will cost this kid his future... plus Merrick from Bell has the 1st team spot locked up..I think he has room for a few misses without being judged too harshly.

If my company can corner the market on this...then YES!!!!!!!!!! If we put LED's on the crossbar pointing up... and on the upright's pointing in...then you will easily get enough light within the twp uprights.. the issue comes for kicks above the top of the uprights. LED's will really stuggle past about 15',,, so we may need to put like some type of HID lamp as well, or wait for LED technology to catch up.

It's settled then... for the most fairness we will play the enxt game at CAM as well...

Instead of lasers, use colored LED's. The light would dissipate quickly keeping the FAA off everyone's backs, and the teams could customize the LED's color to match their shool's colors. Plus LED's are low voltage and very space efficient making them not only an economical optional, but an energy efficient one as well.

So is the conspiracy theory that everyone is out to get Highlands... so let's drop them both :thumb:

I watched the tape delay and watched this video andI saw nothing suggesting there was any type of conspiracy... I am sure there have also been numerous times that people have visited Highlands and had calls go against what they perceived as well. The entire world is not out to get Highlands. If they were then the Bluebirds wouldn't have won a state title a few years ago despite forfeiting every game nearly up to that point.

With all due respect to Brutscher and Thompson, but did they really deserve to be on this list over: - Justin Green, Male - Charlie Banks, Letcher Central - Chase Richardson, Johnson Central - Monte Merrick, Bell County - Ivan Lee, Belfry - Jordan Aumiller, Boyle County - Mister Cobble, Lou. Central - Ridge Wilson, Lou. Central - Shenard Holton, Warren East Brutscher has a nice stat line: 70/110, 1000 yards, 9 TD, 2 INT... 46 carries, 206 yards, 4 TD... but is this really Mr. Football worthy? Especially when his teammate seems to be the favorite for the award? Thompson has 31 TD's, but his team was bounced in the 2nd Round and finished with a 9-3 record.

Or better yet... how about the KHSAA step in and end this mockery and we play it on a neutral field.... like Pikeville

Thinking of one of the four remaining teams but they are not named Central or Union County, who has rushed for over 4000 yards, rarely turns the ball over, is very well coached and disciplined, and has some unfinished business left at the Pizza Pit...

I think I know of one pair of officials who should not be calling the State Finals with their narrower goalposts.

Man I love reading Highlands threads this time of the year... Always good for a few laughs at what the oposing teams say. IMO, 2nd verse..same as he first. Whitley is a slower but stronger Johnson Central. Highlands 35 Whitley 14 Close for a half then the floodgates open.

How did that work for Fugate last year again? Belfry is unlike any defense he has seen all year, if Breathitt can't stablish a passing game it will be a tough night for Fugate.

This is a bold statement, but: If Breathitt cannot establish a passing game then Belfry will hold Fugate in check (under 100 yards) and win this one going away by 3+ TD's..... With that being said though, if Breathitt can establish a passing game attacking multiple lvels of Belfry's defense then this could be a very, very interesting game. Belfry will be without a doubt the best defensive team Breathitt has faced. Breathitt has the potential to be the best offensive team Belfry has faced,

My thoughts too.. Belfry may actually be a better running team than JC and more capable of a pass rush on defense. Highlands would still torch Belfry's DB's, but the Pirates might make those passes a little less accurate with Coleman and Hall chasing after the QB. Ahh...well..... maybe one day the powers that be can make it work.
