  1. Possibly, but Weinrich would have adjusted the D play calls, and there would have been more LB support against the run than was needed otherwise.
  2. I got his point, even if it had no apparent connection to this thread's title. Really, the poll is what it is, and doesn't mean anything unless you want it to, like the guy from Ryle who is all cheesed-off that Ryle is #3 and Cov Cath is #2. Talk about your major injustices that need to be corrected immediately!!!!
  3. Probably during the playoffs, when you guys had already turned in your equipment and had nothing better to do on a Friday night??
  4. News Flash - Highlands isn't in OHIO. Get a map, globe, atlas or some other geographical representation of state boundaries, and check it out.
  5. Not to mention that those 6 meetings were later in the season than Week 2 (yes, I know it is Dixie's 3rd game), when Dixie has traditionally reached "football shape".
  6. I know Neil, sir, and you are no Neil! I have to admit that the "throw out the kitchen sink theory" sounds interesting, but installing that kind of game plan on a short week would only add to the challenge Dixie is facing with the short turnaround. Perhaps they can do it, but it would require a kind of focus I don't think they have shown this season. And, nothing would kill whatever motivation there is in the game plan for a trick play to go horribly wrong and the Birds to get great field position or TD on a turnover. I am somewhat concerned about Highlands coming off the bye week. The last 2 seasons, the bye week was right before Cov Cath. In 2009, the Birds started real slow before finally clicking. Last year, the game came down to the last play. I don't know that the play in either game can be attributed to the bye week, but maybe that played a part. Lastly, I expect Devin Bruns to be a major factor in the success of HHS D in this one. If there is any inexperience or weakness in the interior of Dixie's O-Line, Devin is going to expose it all night long. If either Guard or the Center plays both ways, the 2nd half will be fun to watch!
  7. I don't think it is you, as I had problems as well. The announcers mentioned that the press box was loaded, so maybe everyone was using the same high speed internet connection, and the pipe wasn't big enough. Who knows, but somehow they need to get it fixed!
  8. Don't be too hard on UK#1 fan - he is pacing nervously at home awaiting the Beechwood vs. SK matchup later. Probably giving him an upset stomach!
  9. Why? Your asumption, I believe, is that the only reason many students attend the successful private schools is for athletics. They would logically argue, and I would agree, that students are getting way more than an outstanding athletic experience at a private school.
  10. Haven't read them, but I would guess it would go something like this..... Quack, Quack-Quack, Quackity-Quack-Quack.:jump: Let me know if you figure it out.
  11. Who was talking about a private school in NKY? Highlands is a public school.
  12. It seems that in every thread about Highlands, you bring up something about residence. In the Frosh thread, you took a shot about the incoming freshmen not all having played in the FTJFL, when it had been clearly acknowledged in a previous post as to where the incoming players are from. What's your point? No one who supports the Highlands program has disputed the claim that Highlands has students form outside the confines of Ft. Thomas. If you think you have evidence of any illegal behavior, you are encouraged to report it to the KHSAA. Otherwise, it just appears as petty jealousy to bring it up in every post. If it bothers you that much that Highlands has kids from outside Ft. Thomas, stop reading any thread with Highlands or HHS in the thread title.
  13. Please re-read post #118, which describes in detail the breakdown of where the freshmen-to-be played last year. Since that post, no one has posted any claim that all 53 freshman played in the FTJFL. Again, what point are you trying to make with your post?
  14. Good observation. Actually, the FTJFL gets the name from the fact that it started in Ft. Thomas, and all the games are still played in Ft. Thomas. Other than that, what point were you trying to make?
  15. During the regular season game at Dixie, I recall he was taken out. As for the playoff game, he and one of the linemen were ejected for an altercation.
  16. You are correct about D3, in that there are no athletic scholarships, however there can be academic scholarships or other financial aid. The Signing Ceremony is usually tied with a Letter of Intent to attend a DI school on an athletic scholarship, which is a general indication that the athlete is off the market as far as recruiting goes. I like the fact that all the athletes who have chosen to continue to play get recognized, even though they are signing a Financial Aid package acceptance vs. an ahletic scholarship. Congrats to all!
  17. ABC, where have you been? Must have gone somewhere for spring break, as you havn't posted on this one in a while. While I don't know all the specifics of the hiring process, I do know (or have heard) that teachers are not 'required' to indicate whether or not they will be returning until sometime in April. So, in a small school district like Bellevue, the entire landscape of potential teaching vacancies across the district remains unclear. Since the candidates for the HC position are likely all techers, it stands to reason that the school district has to figure out both pieces to this puzzle. Or, the other answer could be that they are frequent readers of BGP, and as they have no doubt read your posts and those of others, have chosen to toy with you through the process. They could just be delaying their decision to watch your slow burn.
  18. I hear that SK's indoor facilities are fantastic, and it is great that the school has such a facility. But, to think that the ability to control the climate determines how sucessful the practice can be is a weak argument. I don't know what SK does during their indoor practice, but I am familiar with what Highlands does, and as others have posted in this thread, it is an extremely well-planned and executed series of practices to accomplish some pre-determined goals. As far as weather goes, this year's so far has been better than last year, when practice was about two weeks earlier, and the field was surrounded by piles of snow.
  19. I don't recall ever seeing a claim made that all players are from Ft. Thomas, however it is apparent that the overwhelming majority (>95%) are, as has been stated numerous times. So, what's your point? Back to the thread topic. How was practice yesterday? Assuming they will be practicing again today, it should be good weather.
  20. I seem to recall reading on this site that Highlands was willing to take that chance and play the game, but SK was not. What's up with that?
  21. Animated Character Replies? Whatever. Did you really mean to write that some part of Highlands athletics, or more specifically the football program, is actually polarizing the community? Do you actually read what you post? Who are you charactrizing as Far Left Extremists? Would it be the school administration, coaches, teachers, players, fans or who?
  22. It appears that only some define this as a problem. You seem to be the banner-carrier this year in defining this as a problem. Do you see this rising to such a level of disgust in your thinking as to cause you to lose interest in Highlands athletics?
  23. I hear they spend a lot of time reading a KY High School football forum. Just can't get enough of it!
