  1. What is up with VanSant? Will he play any Offense? I remember that Coach Rodenberg thought that Isler to VanSant would be a play that would have excellent results.
  2. That would be great news and also the fastest recovery in history. Has anyone else heard this? Isler is back at QB after missing last week with a bruised knee. Perhaps with Buckley healthy and Furnish being his reliable self, this offense can mix things up a little. I think a little variety in the running game will keep the defenses honest and give Isler a little more breathing room to open up the passing game. We are going to see how bad CCH has missed Buckley's input up to this point. Lets hope it is not to late to get this going.
  3. Don't forget that CCH came back from 21 down in the first half.
  4. I do agree with you about the onside kick against Scott. I don't agree about last nights TD pass. There is a difference between 35-0 and 17-0 and between a normal play and a trick play. I also remember some of the same people who did not have a problem with the onside kick that now have a problem with the TD pass. This was not you, but some of the Highlands/Lickert faithful.
  5. Thank you for backing me up on this one. That was the plan. They had another plan that they used and it worked out nicely. Cantstop85 can,t understand that. BTW Cantstop85, the TD pass was a slant, not a screen. I don't think CCH threw a slant all night long. So why not see if your second team QB can throw it in a game situation.
  6. I agree with you if it is your starting QB. The backup QB needs as much playing time and CONFIDENCE as he can get. CCH had proven that they could run the ball.
  7. You are way off on this one. The decision to play Isler was to be a game time decision. One concern was the field condition. Once he slipped, decision was made by team doctor. No theater, just good medical advice.
  8. I did not think it was a big deal. CCH had a kid at QB that has not had much playing time all year. The starter is on the bench with a banged up knee. Let the kid go out and play football. He needs the experience in case he is called on in the future. By the way, it was a perfect pass as he hit his man in stride.
  9. Also, Buckley looked very good tonight. The Furnish/Shulte QB combo was a little slow to start the game but seemed to get going in the second half. Isler dressed and even threw and punted before the game but did not play. I would think he be good to go next week.
  10. Furnish scored 2 on the ground and Shulte had a 20 yard TD pass with about 2:45 to go in the game. The passing TD had the Holmes coach fuming at the CCH coach. It looked like they may have had words after the game. CCH defense shut Holmes offense down all night. CCH offense was slow to get going but put together some good drives in the second half. They kept the ball out of Holmes hands. After seeing the Dixie/CCH and CCH/Holmes games it makes the Dixie/Holmes game even more puzzling.
  11. I think that the CCH temp lights game was done this year only. That is what CCH told their neighbors. If they want to do it once a year, they will have to apply to Kenton County Area Planning for every event. I think that fee is 500.00.
  12. No I do not change my vote. The QB decision will probably not be made until game time. CCH has a game plan for whoever the QB is and I am confident that each QB is ready. Don't forget that Isler has also punted the ball pretty well for CCH. If he can't go, that may change what CCH can do out of the punting formation.
  13. [ 3-Cov Cath- lost their entire infield, except their ss and their entire outfield and most of their pitching. Can't reload like Ryle will. Diamond Dandy, While I appreciate your passion and knowledge for high school baseball, you obviously did not scout CCH very well. Sure they lost some very good fielders and pitchers, but to say they lost their entire infield and most of their outfield is simply inaccurate. The positions that they lost will be filled with players that are very solid. The pitching will be there. Reloading is not a problem this year. I know nothing about Ryle or Beechwood or any other teams, so I will not predict a CCH championship. I do predict that CCH will be tough against anyone that they play.
  14. That makes no sense. If Wehry is not working out at QB, then he is not a QB.
  15. Wehry is no longer playing QB, he has been working out at reciever for the last three weeks. The backups are Shulte then Young.
  16. Hope you are right. If not, I think Shulte will do a good job. The key will be to run the ball effectively and that will open up the pass. I know that is a very basic idea, but with a new QB it becomes even more important. Hopefully Isler can go on Friday not only at QB, but also at punter.
  17. Mr. Coleman seems very knowledgable, What is his background? I think the broadcasts are presented very proffessionally.:thumb:
  18. I might be wrong, but I do not think Scott has ever beat CCH at Varsity football. I'm sure someone will let me know if I am wrong.
  19. Not even close.:thumb: It was a very good game for both teams.
  20. If Beechwoods coach is more concerned with giving CCH 24 seconds to score then scoring themselves, then he out thought himself. CCH does not have what most consider an explosive offense. It is easy to watch on TV and second guess coaches. The game is faster and more complicated when you are coaching. I am sure that Beechwood will think about how to handle this situation better.
  21. I think it was second down with 24 seconds left and no timeouts. You could pass on second, pass on third, and run the sneak on fourth. You get three plays instead of one. Now if that is not poor clock managment I guess that I don't understand football.
  22. Many D-1 college games don,t draw this kind of crowd.Louisville should be proud. I would love to go to this game some year. It is on my list.:ylsuper:
  23. You can never count on the refs to get it right. That is why you do not run the ball in that situation. There were bad calls on both sides of the ball, just like every football game ever played. I am sure that Beechwoods coach is very good at what he does, but his play calling at the end of the game was bad.:walk:
