Did Nutini start for CCH? Who else pitched for both teams? -
I don't think it would be easy. Possible yes, but not easy.

You have posted twice now, both of them were negative comments. Didn't your mother tell you that if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all.

Covington Catholic 14 Highlands 0

Sounds like a football score. -
Off the wall, but is Rick Hornsby teaching at Ludlow? He coached at CCH many years ago with Coach Ray. He could be a good temporary Head Coach or a solution to the timing of all of this. I may be way off base with this idea, but just trying to think outside of the box.

New coaches at Covington Catholic

So who is coaching what positions? -
He does do a good job of keeping us less fotunate fans informed. He can be a little heavy on the Malie stuff, but the information is appreciated.

Or one could say that Cov Caths pitchers made Ryle's hitters look bad. BTW, not complaining but that was a tight strike zone. I thought Ryle's players adjusted to the strike zone well, but could not get any solid contact.

Newport High School's Field Turf...
punttheball replied to Freebird23's topic in KY Football (High School)
I just spoke to my father in law who lives in Marietta, Ohio. The Marietta College football field has the same turf. In 2004 they had a flood that came up too fast to have time to cover the field. The mud that ended up covering the field was several feet deep. They have cleaned and cleaned and to this day still have mud come up through the turf. The main thing is covering the field with a tarp and even putting up plywood around the fence to keep out as much mud as possible. He is good friends with the AD there and would be glad to put anyone in touch with her if they want more info--just pm me if you are close to the situation and want more info. -

Ryle High receives $750,000 donation
punttheball replied to Theoldguy's topic in KY Football (High School)
There is nothing better than a nice natural grass field. Field Turf makes the field avalible for so many more functions, not only football/soccer. Keeping a natural grass field in good shape limits the usability of the field. With turf the only problem is that you can use it so much that scheduling can become quite a chore. Will Ryle be allowed to rent the field out to other organizations to raise money for their athletics? This new field is something that the Ryle community should/will be proud of. It will help Ryle elevate just about any sport/activity that the school offers. Congrats. -
Cov. Holmes vs. Cov. Cath
punttheball replied to Baseballguy's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
In the two losses this season CCH allowed alot of offensive rebounds for Holmes which resulted in alot of second chance points for Holmes. If CCH is going to win this game they must do a better job boxing out and rebounding the ball. That is a tall order. -
Holmes 59 Cov. Cath. 50 OT
punttheball replied to TURBOENNIS's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
You are right about it being an important game, however it was not a do or die situation. Depending on the injury, injured players are more likely to be a liability than an asset. It is a long season. -
Holmes 59 Cov. Cath. 50 OT
punttheball replied to TURBOENNIS's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I did not see it, but the guy I was at the game with thought goaltending should have been called. BTW, he is from Ohio and has no interest in CCH or Holmes. Bottom line is CCH allowed way to many offensive rebounds in the fourth quarter that were put back up for two. If Maile was hurt, the Coach Listerman should not have played him. Now is the time to get your team healthy, not worry about winning a game in January. CCH will get back on track when everyones health gets better. Good game by Holmes to not panic and to play good team ball to make a comeback. -
covcath.org Go to athletics, then to basketball, then to web radio.

And then whine about it later.

Cov Cath 76 Elliott Co 62
punttheball replied to HOMELESS CAMEL's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Did not mean to sound defensive. The CCH radio guys get criticized alot by non-CCH people. Everyone is welcomed to listen, however the radio guys are doing this for CCH people, so be ready for some biased reporting. -

punttheball replied to HOMELESS CAMEL's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
AMEN. If non-CCH people do not like the coverage perhaps they should tune in a different channel. Oh yeah, most of the time there is not a different channel to tune into. -
That was one fans opinion. The vast majority of CCH fans respects Ryle. Just because most CCH fans thought that CCH would beat Ryle does not mean CCH doesn't respect them. Ryle should walk away from this game knowing that they can beat the top teams in the region. They should not think that they lost due to the " refs bias towards CCH ".

I played football for EKU in the 80's, isn't EKU and WKU's stadiums about the same size? It has been a long time. The turf over grass thing would exclude EKU. I agree that playing in a large stadium kills the atmosphere. Somewhere that seats 10,000 to 15,000 would be perfect. Also as centrally located as possible.
