  1. What you did see was Isler run 10 plays maximum against Ryle. The offensive line played very poorly against a strong Ryle defense. None of the 3 qbs had a chance to do anything positive [ Weary was not one of the 3 qbs]. Good job by Brossart to correct the problems with the offensive line. They played much better. With a much longer srimmage against Roger Bacon, it would have been nice to see all of the qb canidates get some reps.
  2. Good observation. I am sure that the offense will improve with time. It is a good thing that Coach Brossarts area of expertise is the offensive line.
  3. Hard to say from what I saw today. Buckley was the only bright spot today. I think CCH only ran about 20 offensive plays. Nothing seemed to work. I think they only got 2 or 3 first downs. With 3 qbs splitting 20 plays, it is hard to see where this offense is headed.
  4. I can see the advantages of running a scrimmage as a regular game. However, CCH spent most of the game on defense. I guess it points out your weakness, but if the idea of a srimmage is to get a good number of reps on both sides of the ball, then it did not work. I thought both teams defenses looked good. Ryles offense is further along than CCHs. Ryle sure likes the direct snap to their running backs, as they ran it at least 8 times.
  5. Where did I say that? The point is that each kid has his strength.
  6. Nobody has said that Furnish cant throw or that Isler cant run.
  7. In order for JC to take the next step, they must play a tough non-district schedule. Sounds like that is what they are going to do. You must do this every year. You will have to travel some and you will lose some games along the way. Come playoff time you will be well prepared.
  8. Does Furnish have any experience at qb? He is a good db and is fast.
  9. My point is that each guy has certain strengths. Which one fits into Brossarts offense better?
  10. Congrats!!! To have a chance of playing at the college level is an awesome accomplishment.
  11. I think it depends on what type of offense Coach Brossart wants to run.
  12. When do the Colonels play? Who do they play? And what is the format?
  13. Do not know about the rest of thr state, but I am a fan of JV playing on Monday afternoon or evening. Also, it would be nice if there was a requirement that JV played the same opponent as varsity did that Friday/Saturday.I know when I played that the JV schedule seemed to not be important and almost a pain to the coaches. The JV players practice with the varsity and deserve to play an equal schedule. Sorry that I got of the topic, but it seems to me that some schools think it is no big deal to cancel a JV game if it is not convienant. Maybe this should be a seperate thread.
  14. Does Furnish have any QB experience? I have seen Wehry play QB and from what I recall he looked decent. What has Furnish done to be considered a composed athlete and leader?
  15. For the record, I would love to see them get lights. I did not like playing on Saturday afternoons. I just hope that if they want lights, that they honor the original agreement with the city.
  16. After seeing the letter for myself, I think they may be talking about temporary lights. The letter does not explain this very clearly, but does only talk about 1 varsity football game and 1 varsity soccer game. These games would be at the end of September. Sorry about any bad information. Has anyone else heard anything else?
  17. I would say that CCH has the money and that according to the letter, if approved it will happen this year. I also find it hard to believe that they would spend the money to put lights in and only use them twice in 2007.
  18. 5 of the 7 properties on the Old State Rd side are still occupied by residents that were there before a field was built. You may be correct about the Saint James side. You have to understand that the original agreement stated that unless nieghboring properties agreed to lights, that there would be no lights. Also, money must not be an issue because the letter stated that if approved the lights would be in by Sept. 28.
  19. Most of the neighbors you speak of bought their house knowing that a sports complex was there. Most of the neighbors in Park Hills were there before a field was even built. Not saying I am against it, just looking at both sides.
  20. I am quite sure that the intent is to play varsity football on Friday nights. Also lights would maximize the use of the artificial surface by allowing soccer, lacrosse and anything else you can think of to use the field 7 nights a week. That might sound great, but consider if you were a nieghbor of the field. How would you feel?
  21. This issue has come up before and has had resistance from the city.Part of the original agreement with the city to build the field was that there would be no lights unless the nieghbors agreed to allow them.
  22. Heard from a resident of Park Hills that CCH has apprroached the city about putting lights up on the football/soccer/lacrosse/track/any other sport you can of sport field.
