As far as expenses go, I’m sure it was a little more expensive than bluegrass or fescue sod, but I'd say that's a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of their new gym. No wonder Harrison been so good through the years, there's no bad hops on their field and they know where the ball is going to bounce. All this time I thought it was their talent and Coach Mac…. :lol::lol: I agree on the field needing rolled, new infields will have some settling issues, but I would venture to say all infields need rolled at the beginning of every high school season due to ground freezing and thawing. Nice, if you have that luxury. Lights too low? Wasn’t aware of KHSAA regulation on the height of light poles. They looked to be standard lights to me. As far as restrooms go, couldn’t agree more. Word is, construction is to begin on new concession stand and restrooms at the end of 2008 high school season.

I don’t know if any of you guys were at the regional last year in Montgomery Co., but they have the best playing surface and dimension in the 10th region.

10th Region: Harrison Co, then you can pick one these four that are in the opposite bracket of Harrison; GRC, Scott, Montgomery or Campbell Co. How that for narrowing it down? 11th: Lex Cath - Dunbar 14th: Estill - Letcher Co Central 15th: Lawrence - Paintsville 16th: Greenup - Boyd

GRC4LIFE, GRC will be very strong up the middle. Who do you see pitching other than Bennett and who plays SS when Bennett pitches? I see the 40th coming down to GRC and Montgomery with their head to head meetings being very important as to whom gets the one seed come district tournament time.

Duke01fan, Who do think will be Montgomery's pitchers this year? If I’m not mistaken they threw mainly seniors last year. I still think their district runs through GRC and their region through Harrison, until proven different. But, I think Coach Combs will make a difference this year. Montgomery has some young talent with experience coming back this year. Looking forward to see how they've improved this coming year.

Another great rivalry game between GRC \ Montgomery Co. Both teams ranked in the top 20 and both should move up after their performances last night. GRC scores with less than 30 sec left to tie the game at 5. # 9 for GRC and # 7 for Montgomery both have speed to burn and great offensive skills. Good luck to both the rest of the year.....

I agree with you on GRC reloading. Bennett and Barker will provide leadership and a strong nucleus to build around. Evan Bennett gives GRC a chance to beat anyone in region when he’s on the mound. The question I have is, who will step up and be the table setters for the killer B’s to drive in runs?

There is fall Baseball, but the high school coach’s are not allowed to give instructions or be associated with their team in any way. The fall leagues are either organized by baseball academies such as Champions Sports (out of Lexington) or individuals that just love the game and organize their own fall league for high school teams or individual players. Maybe, high school golf could find a sponsor for the spring, like Pepsi is in the summer, or have the Pepsi tour start in April. Just a thought. I agree with you 100%, I would like to see all non-revenue sports get the same shake as the revenue sports (football/basketball).

Wow!!!! You must follow the 40th pretty close. I live in the 40th an watched all four 40th district teams play a lot this past year and if I’m not mistaken, Montgomery only started 2 senior position players and they were in the outfield. As far as pitching goes, it was the 1st year 2 of the 3 starters threw any significant innings in a varsity game. If someone that follows the Indians closer please, chime in and correct me if I’m wrong, it wouldn't be the 1st time.

I would have to add the Montgomery Co. Indians to this list. If the young Indians grow up to be warriors over the winter, could make some noise in the 10th this coming year. Please note; last sentence started with IF!!!!! Nice mix of 3 returning senior starter and under classman with experience, not to mention, they all have a year of tutelage under Coach Combs.
