Underrated Teams in the 10th

Featured Replies

Your thoughts on teams in the 10th that are underrated and being overlooked that could make a run in the playoffs?

I'd say that Scott is a very underrated. They graduated a lot of Seniors last year but they have got some good talent again this year.

I don't know about GRC but I know they graduated their whole starting line-up for the most part but from who I've talked to people tell me they are just going to reload next year... any truth to this?

Not really, a lot of people think they will make it to regions for a third straight season. As far as underated goes, any team that wins region not named Harrison Co. will be considered underated. Scott earned a lot of teams respect in the tenth this past season, hopefully the keep it.

Well they lost a lot offensively but they have a great pitching rotation in Adams, Adkins and Hiller. It may have not been as good as last years but it will certainly be one of the best in the region. The place Scott really needs to improve on this year will be on the offensive side of the ball. Other than Adams, Murray, Adkins and Bianchi they have to seek some production somewhere in the line-up.

I think the Scott people know how good they'll be but to people outside of the high school they will probably think they are down this year.

GRC returns 3 everday starters; the catcher, shortstop and second baseman

I think St. Pat could win the 39th district. With Owens and Anderson and Stwarka as their top 3 hitters.

I know they haven't had the record to show anything but I think Deming could make a little noise this upcoming year. Returning all but 1 starter. They have had the same kids playing since middle school and they are finally juniors and seniors. Not saying they will win region but I think they could win alot more games this year.

I hope so. I would have to commend Coach Workman for sticking with those boys when no one else would take them.

I remember when Deming had a team during the 80's. Why did they ever do away with the program?

Also the DH/1b at times.. If they can develop some pitching they will be very dangerous once again.:thumb:

GRC4LIFE,

GRC will be very strong up the middle. Who do you see pitching other than Bennett and who plays SS when Bennett pitches?

I see the 40th coming down to GRC and Montgomery with their head to head meetings being very important as to whom gets the one seed come district tournament time.

3 solid hitters but you cant win the district without d-fense:thumb:

I belive their hitting alone will keep them in most games... When Bennett pitches freshman Withrow can come in and pick up the slack at SS as he did so some last year as an 8th grader. Also Junior Adam Peters will be a legitimate pitcher on the mound. Maybe some more guys that have not played recently will come back to the diamond.. More will be figured out when its closer to Spring time.:thumb:

SYGU, do you know about the pitching staff for Deming?

Bracken Co. has some good young players and could surprise some teams in the 39th.

Defense is taught easier than hitting. You have to have a feel of the game to hit, you have to learn how to defend.

You is in the 39th with you?
