Montgomery County: Taylor Potter committed to Capital University Chris Duzyk is down to Rhodes and Centre College Who are the College's looking at Harrison's seniors?

I have said this for last couple of years. This shouldn't be for basketball alone, but all high school sporting events.

I posted this in a earlier thread, but I no longer see it. I still think this holds true for the 10th region 2010. 1. Harrison Co.- No brainier!! They basically return everyone except Case, their SS, from last years state tournament team. Two Questions: Who will replace Case at SS? Will Matthew Dye's elbow be a 100% by this spring? 2. GRC – Only graduated 3 seniors from last year’s team. Bailey will be hard to replace at 2nd base, but GRC returns most of their pitching staff and will have a good rotation with Seniors Jackson, Bell, Whittman and Turner. GRC may also have the best hitter in the 10th in McQuerry, who is only a sophomore. 3. (A) Montgomery Co. – Graduated four starters from last year’s team. MC will have 3 solid pitcher in Combs, Lee and Potter, but will need a few others to step up to have an above average season. MC returns 5 solid seniors and a good freshman and sophomore class. 3. (B) Bourbon Co. – Lost 6 to 7 starters at key positions to graduation, which included 2 of their best pitchers and some big bats. BC will return 2 solid pitchers in Robertson and Mullins, but not sure if they’ll have enough run production for them. 3. © Bishop Brossart – Graduated 7 from last years team, didn’t get to see them play last year so I’m not familiar enough to comment any further. 3.(D) Campbell Co. – Graduated 8 from last years team, but I did notice that 6 of the 8 were listed as pitcher. Again, didn’t get to see them play last year so I’m not familiar enough to comment any further. 3. (E) Scott High – According to last years roster they graduated 12 senior last year and one of those being the 10th region POY. My guess this will be a rebuilding year for Scott, but once again, didn’t get to see them play last year so I’m not familiar enough to comment any further. 3. (F) Nicholas Co. – Year of graduation not listed with their roster so I’m not sure how many players they lost to graduation, but I do know they return a very solid player in Campbell. 3. (G) Mason Co. - Only lost 3 seniors to graduation last year. MC is in the weakest district in the region, so they should have another easy trip to the 10th region tournament again this year. Harrison is a huge favorite to win the 10th and GRC is the 2nd favorite because of pitching depth. After that, 3A thru G in my opinion is a toss up.

MC did throw a freshman (Lee) the first 6 innings against Cabell-Midland. Potter came in and threw the 7th. By the way, I wasn't implying MC is the caliber of team that Harrison is; MC has a long way to go to get to that caliber. I have nothing but respect for Harrison's program and they will be the cream of the crop in the 10th this coming year. This was a summer game, has nothing to do with high school season. This was a good win for a young MC team to build on for next spring and that's all there is to it. I just thought the commit, goofed off with their pitching, was a little disrespectful because it wasn't their pitching that lost them the game.

Congrats on the tournament win. I known what you mean, MC was out of pitching by time they got to Harrison. Cabell-Midland had a very nice team, MC lost to them 1-0. MC pitched a freshman against them.

Did Harrison end up winning this tournament? I know they lost to Montgomery Co. 3-1 yesterday.

Talked to Cody's dad last night and he told me that Cody has committed to the University of the Cumberlands. Congratulations and Good Luck!!!

I'm not sure I follow you. You say good win then put down EC pitching depth. So, I take it as you really don't think this was a good win for MC because EC didn't throw Freeman. If the Clowers kid is EC's #4 I'll take him at MC any day as our #4, Clowers has good velocity and a nice curve. He may not of had his best outing as far locating the baseball, but ever one has an off day with location and MC took advantage of that. I'm not sure what EC has after Freeman and Clowers, but these two were suppose to be one of the better 1-2 combo' s in the 14th. Some one from Estill please correct me if I'm wrong.

Final from Estill Co Ty Combs started for MC and throws 3 solid innings before giving way to Martin for the middle 2 innings, Trey Combs closes EC out in the 6th and 7th. Clowers and Crowe pitched for EC. Trey Combs has a big night for MC going 4 for 5 with 3RBI's a 2B and HR. Other highlights for MC. Ty Combs 2\5 2B RBI. Chris Duzyk 2/4 2B RBI. Cody Curtis 2 hits RBI. Taylor Potter 2 hits 2RBI's. Nice win for the Indians before going into District next week. :thumb:

Final from Mt. Sterling . This was a wild one. Game goes 8 innings. Your typically GRC MC rivalry game. To bad the umpires missed it, and I'm sure the GRC fan's would agree with me on this one. If Wednesday's rematch at GRC is anything close to this, I can't wait!!

Final from Versailles. Justin Martin goes 4 innings to get the win and 8th grader Sam Lee comes in to start the 5th and closes Woodford out. Nice job guys!!! Trey Combs hits a 3 run HR to open the game up in the 4th, Trey also had 4RBI's for the game. Other highlights, Taylor Potter 3/4, Seth Razor 2/4, Sam Lee 1/1 2RBI's, Ty Combs 1RBI and Cody Curtis 1RBI. Good win guys, keep it going against Bath Co. tomorrow!!!!

Final from Flemingsburg. Game called in the 6th due to rain. Trey Combs goes 5 innings for the Indians giving up 5 hits and 4ER. Indians commit 5E. Montgomery only collects 3 hits, Seth Razor 2/3 with a 2B and Ty Combs has a solo HR. Workman goes 61/3 for Fleming giving up 3 hits and 1ER. Hunt 2/2 with a 2B and Mouser has a 3 run HR in the bottom of the 1st for Fleming. Congrats FC on the win.

Indians bounce back to get the win over a strong Letcher Central team. Indians could have laid down after a tough 2-1 loss to another very strong team in Clay Co., but the Indians showed a lot maturity tonight by putting the loss behind them to get the win over Letcher. Taylor Potter goes the distance again for MC to record his second complete game win. Potter scattered 6 hits giving up 2R 0ER 1BB and 10K's. Offensive highlights for the Indians were Seth Razor going 2/3 with a double and Taylor Potter with a double and 2 RBI's. Cody Curtis and Chris Duzyk also had hits for the Indians. Best of luck to Letcher Central the remainder of the season. Also, let me add, what nice facilities they have at Letcher Central. I know you guys are proud of them.
