What an exciting baseball game. Nick Gray goes the distance for Clay County to get the win giving up 4H 1ER 2BB and 8K's. Great game young man. Clay County's Tanner Hensley was 3/4 and had the walk off single to end the game in the bottom for the 8th. Clay is a very solid and will be a team to be reckoned with in the 13th Region. Montgomery County started Justin Martin, he went 4 innings recording 6K's 2H 1R 0ER 4BB. Martin gave way to Trey Combs in the 5th who gave up 4H 1ER 4BB 3K's. Trey Combs hit a HR to left center to tie the game at 1-1 in the top of the 4th for Montgomery's only run. Congrats Trey!!!! Both team's seemed to play a flex defense today, they both bent but didn't break. When either team threatened with runner's in scoring position, each team stepped up and made big plays. Two plays that stand out for MC was 4-6-3 double play MC turns with base's loaded in the bottom of the 1st to get the Indians out of the inning. The other came in the bottom of the 4th with 2 outs CC has a runner on second and tries to score on a single to left only to have MC's Jesse Watkins throw the runner from second out at the plate, by the way, great tag by MC's catcher Chris Duzyk. CC also had an unassisted 6-3 double play to kill an Indians rally. Congrats Clay County on the win. Final from Paris. Cody Curtis gets the win for Montgomery and 8th grader Sam Lee closes Paris out in the 5th. MC Freshman Ryan Toy hits a 2 run homer in his 1st varsity at bat. Congrats Ryan!!!

We agreed before the game to give Morgan 4 outs. When Martin left the game there was 1 out, there for, you get 1/4. I would assume you've never hit the wrong key. By the time I realized I had typed a 1/4 it was to late to edit.

Ty Combs gets the win going 6 1/3 . Trey Combs closes the door going the last 1 2/3. 2-1 game going into 6th. Indians blow it open in the 6th scoring 7 runs and 2 runs in the 7th. Best of luck to Madison Southern the rest of the year.

Final from West Liberty. Morgan makes the big plays when needed to get the win. Montgomery didn't have their A game, but still had a chance to get the win. Jon Lopez throws 5 solid inning's for a no decision. Mitchell Harvey came in and threw the 6th and 7th for the win. Martin takes the loss for Montgomery after throwing 61/4 solid innings. Very good outing's by all pitcher's. Chris Duzyk had a big game at the plate for Montgomery, going 3 for 4 and driving in the go ahead run in the top of the 7th. Morgan ends up loading the base's in the bottom of the 7th and Jon Lopez delivers a walk off single to end the game. Congrats to Morgan on the win and good luck the rest of the year.

Justin Martin blanks Rowan thru 5 innings. MCHS showed solid defense. Ty Combs and Taylor Potter had 2 hits each for MCHS. Rowan had a 2 out HR in the top of 7 for their 2 runs. This could have very easily been a 5-inning game; MCHS had 8 LOB thru 5 innings.

Potter did have a good outing, but also had a strong defense behind him as well. Two key defense plays to last night win for Montgomery were; 1. JC has runners on 1st and 2nd 1 out. JC hit a line drive to SS Ty Combs and he doubles up the runner on 1st. Inning over. 2) 1 out runner on 1st MC gets a strike him out throw him out from catcher Chris Duzyk. The best thing I like about this MC team is their team chemistry:thumb:

Taylor Potter goes the distance for the Indians giving up 1ER 8 hits struck out 12 Eagles with 0 walks. Had good control tonight 67 strikes to 27 balls. Only downer for the Indians was stranding 10 runners tonight.

Final from Mt. Sterling. This one was as good a game as I thought it be. Big win for Montgomery against a very good Johnson Central team. Good luck the rest of the year JC, you'll make a lot of noise in the 15th this year.

March 21st 1:00pm Letcher Centeral at Montgomery Co.

Ty Combs, Montgomery Co. Senior. Hard throwing right hander. Justin Martin, Montgomery Co. Senior. Hard throwing left hander, if control has improved could be one of the best. Chase Mullins, Bourbon Co. Freshman left hander. This kid could be really special. I know Harrison will have some really good arms, just not sure who will be their best. Only got to see Bennett last year for GRC, so not sure who will be their best pitcher's this year and I'm sure they'll be some good arms from the northern teams in the region.

Any relation to Kevin or Keith Hembree? I've been gone to long to keep up with this age group. Hope she makes a speedy recovery. :thumb: Thanks in advance.
