Darius Miller.....just sealed his fate as Mr. Basketball....
Anyone have chalk it up???

2007/2008 Covington Catholic
No big loss for the Colonels... He was a Junior not starting JV last year. CCH will always be a guard oriented team running a guard oriented offense/defense. Unless they have a big time post player (Votel, Grace) they will never abandon that style.

2007/2008 Johnson Central
Good luck to Coach McKenzie this year... the 3 and 4 are definatly the question this year. Do they have enough scoring/playmaking out of Crum and the other SG (can't think of a name) to compete?

9th region player breaks national record
I know D3 usually produces one or two players that go on to college and play ball (Romes @ Mt. St. Joe's, Pelle @ West Liberty). It seems like this year they are a little down personel-wise. Are there any players with that type of talent??? I don't think so but maybe I'm wrong... Any thoughts??

2007/2008 Holy Cross (Louisville)
I got to see this team play over the summer and was really impressed with what they had returning. Nick House is a good player and I saw some good support around him. I don't know his name? but he was about 6'5/6'6 forward who shot the ball well and the coaches seem to like how he was improving. They should make some noise in the 6th, how much idk??

2007/2008 East Carter

Best Players In The 9th.
Luke Maley from CCH must be on that list somewhere... he may lead one of the best teams in the region in scoring and rebounding next year. His preformance in the 9th region tournament as a sophomore at least cracks him into the top 6,7, or 8... to play that well with such a senior dominated/talented team last year and the crazy substitution pattern at CCH says something

2007/2008 Bishop Brossart
Since they lost so many to graduation last year I'd like to know if they have any players to watch for next year that may impact the 10th...
-
Brossart's Jimmy Uebel to Thomas More
I haven't heard of anything else... They usually have a few unannounced scrimmages and a "midnight madness" type event to start the year. This Exhibition is new for them.
-
5/6th - 7/8th region allstar games
When and Where is this taking place??
-
Brossart's Jimmy Uebel to Thomas More
They will not play NKU this year but open up with an Exhibition with EKU in Richmond
-
Impact Frosh & Soph's in N Ky
Wellbrock is aggressive, Lampl stands and watches. As a Junior he didn't start on the JV Team and CCH's post presence has lacked the past few years. Wellbrock is the only physical post they have that will mix it up with Maley and Grimes.
-
Kevin Listerman to Colerain
I wish Buddy Pittman the best as the new assistant. It is a tough job to take with Listerman at the helm... To be successful at CCH with Listerman takes his favorite word "patience" and the ability to suggest ideas without fear of them being shot down... That is why Maile and Schrand were successful...they didn't always get the style of basketball they wanted but they were never afraid to request something different... led to a great staff.

The non-D1ers
Brian Swan from North Bullitt High School is going to Transy... Very underrated and will be a good player for them
-
CCH Kurt Bovard to Thomas More
I hear it's not so much the firefighting but that his gf transfered from NKU to EKU to continue her volleyball career. One athlete gives up their sport for another....so noble haha
-
Where is Justin Hicks of Hazard going?
      Great player....but :fight: :fight: :fight:
-
The non-D1ers

-
The non-D1ers
Everyone knows about the D1ers but there are plenty of talented kids that are going to play at lower division levels around Kentucky and beyond... Let's see a list of the rest and where they are going to play ball in college Pikeville Keaton Beltcher - Pendelton Ct. Tyler Wolfenbarker - Greenup Ct. LMU Ryan Whitaker - Bell Ct. Centre Daniel Neely??? - Owen Ct. Thomas More Todd Jacobs/Kurt Bovard - Cov. Cath Jimmy Uebel??? - Bishop Brossart West Liberty St Corey Pelle - Silver Grove Who's going to Bellermine, Transy, Alice Lloyd.....

CCH Kurt Bovard to Thomas More
Looks like NKY players will be able to stick around now that NKU seems to be going more national then local...

Holmes 72 Covington Catholic 60 OT
Very few teams in the state can match up with Holmes athletically i.e. offensive rebounding, going off the dribble, 1 on 1 o and d; CCH was no different. Watching both the St. Henry game and the CCH game vs Holmes I don't know the exact stats but St. Henry got "absolutly dominated", CCH just "dominated" if that makes any sense. Does anyone know the offensive rebounding stats??? I may be wrong... but imo it felt that way as I watched Zone or man they were going to get beat on the o boards... how badly is up for debate vs the man or zone... I'd prefer to lose with what I do best and have practiced all year. For CCH that's M2M
